Its simple phycology, gather information from people and web sites and try and help people out! And for my dumb question's, I ask them just too get other peoples opionion's. Its more of a tool for me not YOU. !!

Anyway, sounds like you may have had contamination at one point (possibly still). What colour were the colored spots?
You could go ahead and birth them, but some people would advise against eating from contaminated cakes. They could be rotting from the inside, as well. It's your call. I'd have tossed them as soon as the spots showed.

dark brown spots.... appeared ON the mycellium. A friend told my rabbit that they looked fine, and that he would use them.

Why must you people bicker and fight over the level of questions being suggested at this forum. Who cares if the question is "stupid" if the answer will help someone more enjoy their growing experience and reap more than who should care whether the question is "valid" or not. Are we SO VAIN that we must chastise each other. Obviously those that poke fun are just insecure about themselves or antisocial as they get pleasure from calling people down. So please show a little respect towards your fellow shroomer...I will now get off this soapbox of mine...
