Counter arguments stimulates thoughtfulness. Voices of dissent are important in my opinion.

Not every point of view is valid. Some nutcase arguing HIv doesn’t cause aids is not thoughtful dissent. It’s garbage.

About the only good idea Hitler had was his opposition to smoking.

He was also a vegetarian and was opposed to animal abuse later in life.

Granted, there's something to be said for those things. Although it's rather hypocritical to exterminate millions of people and at the same time preach about being good to animals.

Also Germany's economy was doing pretty hot while we were in a great depression.

Germany's economy was a bloody mess. While there seemed to be a temporary revival, actually most of it was not attributable to Hitler but to the people he ousted (in a bloody manner) as the Nazis claimed power, and the policies were short-term viable only.

Not to mention he tried through very peaceful means to establish a Jewish community in Palestine but you know how that turned out. This was way before his hand was forced to Holocaust. God forbid jews coexisting with muslims.

Oh poor guy, they made him kill all the Jews. I kind of feel sorry for him now.

That's an opinion. I believe every point of view should be considered, no matter how ridiculous. You're very dismissive.

I absolutely agree.

You have a fair argument but really the world will never know. They were plunged into World War and defeated before they could really try anything long term.

I'm not saying that any genocide is correct but it should be noted that his hand was forced on that matter. From his perspective, it had to be done for the future of Germany. Doesn't make it right, but every angle should be entertained.

The world does know. Economic policy and developments in Nazi Germany are well-documented. There was only a short-term policy with no horizon beyond the war, and in fact, the policy horizon became extremely short-term oriented as the war developed. Even if they had won, there was no plan nor a feasible outlook on a transition between the expansion/war-economy and a sustainable economy. From an economic viewpoint, the Nazis were the biggest failure in human history right from 1933.

Bullshit. Read up on the Wannsee conference. Again, well-documented.

You can cherry pick your way through history, but it's all just smoke and mirrors.

You do realize that their entire economy was centered around war and it wouldn't have stopped until total world domination, right?

- Wikipedia

The Haavara Agreement was in 1933. Yes it was pre-meditated but in no way does that support that a genocide was the plan from the beginning. The original idea was merely the expulsion of the Jewish people from Germany and Europe which in no way was a new idea. They have a long history of getting kicked out of places (especially in Europe).

No shit, Sherlock. It changes nothing about the total ridiculousness of trying to stand up for Hitler, particularly in terms of economic policy (which was inherently flawed on all levels and internally inconsistent) or racial attitudes.

I shouldn't have to say this but this is an opinion. All I'm saying is that they were legitimate given the circumstances. Not that they were morally correct by whomever's standards. I'm trying to keep my own morals out of this.

Opinions based on pseudoscience are not valid. I am dismissive of stupid ideas. Conspiracy theories are making people stupid

Well that’s better than getting fucked by 20 somethings. They are far more dangerous. It’s the difference between playing Russian roulette with one bullet or three. Either way you will eventually get the bullet.
