Unpopular opinions * 1
    #25525436 -

I'm curious as to see what kind of opinions you guys have that would be rejected by the majority of mainstream society.
I'll start:

1. PReP will create a stronger strain of HIV/AIDS much like antibiotics and pesticides have done with their respective fields.
2. Not all people or races are equal.
3. God exists.
4. There is no proof that anyone is born homosexual.
5. Cheese is as much a drug as caffeine.
6. The sky is a dome.

Will be posting more if I can think of any. While discussing and sharing people's unsavory opinions is the point of this thread, let's please refrain from flaming anyone purely because you don't agree with them. Just because you think they're wrong doesn't make you right. Positive inquiries only.

I can agree with that. College is pretty pointless nowadays and it's usually more of a debt burden than it's worth.

My anecdotal sources for this opinion: All my friends trapped in jobs they hate to pay off their debts (myself included) and the fact that a vast majority of people I know are in fields completely different from what their degrees were in.

How can everyone have everything and we still retain our individuality? Doesn't individualism and possessiveness kind of go hand in hand?

Material posessions do not make you who you are. Individuality is in the conciousness. If everyone had everything there would be more individuality because of the access to everything.....everyone should take care of everyone. Still have systems in place for this and that but still just get what you want and do what you love all while maintaining a social equilibrium. If everyone did it, it would be easy.

I have lots ov course, but here's a few that come to mind:

- Excessive fiber consumption, especially insoluble fiber, is terrible for one's health and the cause ov most colorectal ailments.

- It is entirely safe and very effective to consume amanita muscaria while fresh.

- Old British cars are no less reliable than old German cars for the most part.  The latter just have a better reputation due to owner fanboyism whilst English car enthusiasts tend to be more honest and humble.

- Alcohol CAN BE a psychedelic for SOME people.

- There are many gods, there is only one god, and there is no god.  This statement is completely true.

- It is more likely that so-called 'former life' experiences are simply the result ov acute psychic perception, and it is not possible to discount this notion when one considers the validity ov the latter.

They would get it. In this model everyone would have access to everything....also there would still have to be order, systems, work, laws, schools etc. I'm just saying it baffles me how everyone says we need money, or value when in reality we only need food, water, air, and shelter from the elements. Literally every thing else is optional.

You clearly don’t know anything about biology or medicine. There aren’t stronger bacteria or viruses. They are resistant. Maybe HIV will develop resistance to Prep. That doesn’t mean it’s stronger or worse. Prep is two medications. Resistance is much less likely when multiple drugs are used.

You seem like a terribly ignorant person.

Not to mention he tried through very peaceful means to establish a Jewish community in Palestine but you know how that turned out. This was way before his hand was forced to Holocaust. God forbid jews coexisting with muslims.

I in no way would ever want a race war because I enjoy black dick too much. That said, I think there's something to be said about a people who have evolved over multiple generations in a colder climate. They need to have the ability to plan ahead and problem solve for the long-term. There's no evolutionary incentive for that when you live in the tropics.

Secondarily, there's also a lot of down time when you plan ahead and have to wait out a winter. This stimulates more creativity in people through boredom.

I don't think any form of totalitarianism will ever work in the long run.

It's important so that history won't repeat itself. If you're raised in the United States it's all too common that we're taught a solely Jewish perspective on WW2.

I'm not saying that any genocide is correct but it should be noted that his hand was forced on that matter. From his perspective, it had to be done for the future of Germany. Doesn't make it right, but every angle should be entertained.

The world does know. Economic policy and developments in Nazi Germany are well-documented. There was only a short-term policy with no horizon beyond the war, and in fact, the policy horizon became extremely short-term oriented as the war developed. Even if they had won, there was no plan nor a feasible outlook on a transition between the expansion/war-economy and a sustainable economy. From an economic viewpoint, the Nazis were the biggest failure in human history right from 1933.

Bullshit. Read up on the Wannsee conference. Again, well-documented.

The Haavara Agreement was in 1933. Yes it was pre-meditated but in no way does that support that a genocide was the plan from the beginning. The original idea was merely the expulsion of the Jewish people from Germany and Europe which in no way was a new idea. They have a long history of getting kicked out of places (especially in Europe).

It's a common phrase used in building demolitions to give the OK to take the building down. He's apparently been recorded as saying this when on the phone with someone about the fires in building 7. His defense is that what he meant was to pull the firefighters from the building since it was seen as a lost cause.

You seem like a terribly ignorant person.

Actually, while resistance does not intrinsically make an organism stronger, it is often linked to increased virulence. At least in bacteria.

That's because carbon dioxide both competes with oxygen for binding to hemoglobin and as well increases the concentration of carbonic acid which allosterically inhibits the binding of oxygen. That doesn't make carbon dioxide a more vital nutrient. In fact it's the complete opposite. The process is a feedback response from metabolic waste. CO2 and lactic acid build up from respiration signaling the need for more oxygen which causes unloading of hemoglobin by the bohr effect. But it is because the tissues need OXYGEN. Oxygen is single handedly responsible for the development of multicellular life. I would call that a far more vital nutrient

I shouldn't have to say this but this is an opinion. All I'm saying is that they were legitimate given the circumstances. Not that they were morally correct by whomever's standards. I'm trying to keep my own morals out of this.

Yes, I think I see your point. It is an opinion, and certainly not a popular one, and you haven't stated it is YOUR opinion, so there's that.
But there are two problems with what you say above, I think. The first is that by saying that 'given the circumstances', you imply that these circumstances were partly or largely outside of the sphere of influence of Hitler or the Nazis. I don't think that's a fair proposition, as the circumstances of the war-economy and the widespread and systematic antisemitism were largely shaped by the Nazis themselves. First creating the circumstances and then apologetically stating that the circumstances made them do it, seems like an attempt to reduce or eliminate moral responsibility while it still lies with the same people.
The second issue is that by stating that what they did was 'legitimate', you do apply a norm - you essentially state that it is defendable or even good what they did - given the circumstances. If you want to remove ethics from it, you could only say something like 'it was understandable or logical that they acted this way'. But then I would still disagree; there was very little consistent logic or sound reasoning in both the prosecution of Jews and other groups by Nazis, nor in their economic policy. Both aspects were, from a viewpoint of logic, fundamentally inconsistent and flawed.
Their economic policy was at the same time internationally oriented (using expansion of the nation at the cost of other nations and wide-spread theft from the people and slavery as the means of economic growth) and reclusive (blocking international trade and effectively cutting Germany off of crucial resources).
Their industry policies were focused on extensive privatization, while at the same time trying to keep full control over industrial investment, activities and output. Their social and racial policy was based on an argument of evolution in which (in their eyes) 'unfit' groups of individuals should perish, while at the same time, they employed (particularly in the early years, but also later on) widespread programs of social support for select groups.
In virtual all aspects of Nazi policy, you see this inconsistency between mutually exclusive norms and principles, while they attempted to hold up a mirage of consistent dogma. Essentially, if you look at how the Nazis ran their society as well as their military apparatus, they managed to build in structural tension in every aspect, creating the conditions for inevitable collapse of their empire. There's nothing legitimate or logical to what they did.
