How do you guys vacuum the basement?

Hey guys, so I moved to a place with a basement, and the floor's concrete. Have no idea how to clean it, and I was looking for suggestions. There seems to be an accumulation of dust and lint. I'm assuming it came from the ventilation system.

Do you guys just vacuum it with a regular vacuum? Do you mop it? What's the general protocol?

I use a Roomba.

It conviently picks up rogue jigsaw puzzles and allows me to break them back into obedience.

The thing about the shopvac is that it's really meant for spills... it's not like a vaccuum where you can just drag it around... I have a shopvac and it came with extensions, but it doesn't come with a swiveling head.

every shopvac i've owned has wheels on the bottom.  works perfectly on a concrete floor. :shrug:

quick and thorough when you get a floor nozzle attachment.

Actually, it was too much work for me to describe why I don't wanna use a mop to clean a basement floor. Again, it's concrete, not tiles. I don't know how effective a wet mop is gonna be over picking up fine debris on porous concrete.

I used to work in places where I'd have to mop. It's one thing to fill up a mop bucket and then toss out the dirty water in a commercial setting. Another thing to do that in your home. I don't even know where I'd toss out the dirty water. Carrying the mop bucket full of dirty water upstairs without spilling any liquid and out the garage door is a motherfucker for anyone.

That attachment only works when the hose interfaces with the ground at the optimal angle. I don't like to hunch over when I vacuum.
