Geolite vs. Perlite?

Hey, I was wondering what works better, my foaf has geolite but he was wondering if perlite works better?

Perlite has a larger surface area, larger surface area = more evaporation = higher humiderty. Also its white, so easyer to see contams on.
But different people preffer different things, both work well.

I've also read that the mushrooms tend to grow down towards the perlite because it reflects light.

Not something i have noticed myself.
Though, for sure, it does reflect light.
Depends how strong your top lighting is i suppose.
As long as it is stronger, as it should be, as reflection
is not as bright as a source, I see no problem with it.

No perlite does not work any better then geolite. Other then the fact that it's messy to use, has to have H202 in it unless you like alge growing on it. Can't be reused the way geolite can, and you already have it.
