And there we go again.  "It sucks to have the things I need provided to me, I'd rather be "free" and risk going without healthcare, etc."

Most likely you'll end up in a job where your employer fucks you over for his own benefit.  Not everyone can be a business owner.

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Ask how many Libyans value their freedom now that the state has been toppled.

Sure they might get raped, beheaded, or sold into slavery, but now they have the FREEDOM to do that.

Who said it's mutually exclusive?  Either way, this DSA is a mess and it's only going to hurt the left moving forward.

The left can't compete when the nut jobs get their chance to voice their radical opinions. People like yourself should be outraged at this point, unless sabotaging the movement is now just part of the process.

Uhh ending profit (capitalism) is inherently left.

There is no leftist capitalism.

DSA is only going to continue to grow, both in size and in influence. We're already forcing elected reps to call for abolishing ICE, that took like 2 weeks.

And the majority of millenials (biggest voter bloc in the country) prefer socialism to capitalism.

Its just cute how you continue to have no idea what youre talking about in regards to communism, socialism, or the left as a whole. But then again, people fear what they dont understand. Maybe if you understood it you wouldnt be so terrified.

Lol look at the media hysterics from us getting one (1) socialist into Congress. We are just getting started baby

Most millennials don't understand what socialism is, they just think it's a welfare state. Qman's point is that if they're exposed to rhetoric like "abolish profits" they're going to confuse it with communism and reject it.

Why would they? Millennials werent indoctrinated with red scare propaganda, hence their gravitation towards socialism. Instead, they grew up under the crushing weight of late stage capitalism. Capitalism has offered them nothing but failure. And the more the status quo tries to mitigate, slander, or outright sabotage the left, the more that becomes clear.

Capital wont just accept their wealth being voted away. And the more they push, the more disenfranchised the populace becomes. Its inevitable.

They gravitate towards "socialism" because the media refers to social democracy as socialism.

"majority of millennials prefer socialism to capitalism"

That seems to be the case, but you really need to quantify what they prefer to capitalism. I think it's mainly more social services, not communism, not open borders, not making citizenship completely meaningless.

"DSA is only going to continue to grow"

It could if they play their cards correctly, but right now they're letting their radical leadership fuck it up in a very large fashion. Those radical viewpoints are a very minority position in the US population.  They need to stick with the basics- health care, student debt issues, income inequality, US infrastructure.  If they go down the rabbit hole of open borders, no prisons and communism. They will be toast in short order.

"no idea what you're talking about"

I know what those nutcases are going to do and say before they even know, they're very predictable and have little self control.

"wouldn't be so terrified"

Come on mate, is this the best your have?  I'm scared of some nutcases pissing in the wind with their radical agendas that have very little public support, I don't think so.

1. Mk thats still progress
2. Facts not in evidence
3. Fact not in evidence. You claimed someone said "communism is good," so you cant even say what those nutcases will say and do after they say and do them.
4. I dont need my best. I'm explaining to you why youre wrong. If DSA isnt a threat then dont worry about it. Also, ideas like single payer (the #1 nationwide DSA effort) DO have majority support. Once we accomplish universal healthcare, I'm sure the public will hate it and shun the rest of DSA's ideas. I dont think so.

"ideas like single payer DO have majority support"

I believe it and that should be their main focus instead of going down the rabbit hole with the radical nonsense with virtually no public support. Since it appears the leadership has no self control, they're going to destroy themselves.

Guess what happens when an organization alienates too many people on other issues?  Their main issues also die a quick death.

It literally IS their main focus.

Freedom isn't about being given a happy pill and sat in a corner with all the other smiling, government educated pets. Freedom is the opportunity to pursue happiness, happiness is not guaranteed.

Anarchy is a temporary political tactic that is used to bring about total military control soon after. The United States of America has laws and freedom. I already described the basic difference Communism and Freedom, and it has to do with individual rights, in communism there are none.

I think The Ecstatic would agree with me that the social democrats and their welfare state makes the least sense of any of the systems of government ever proposed. It only makes sense if the goal is to destroy a country in order to build something new.

And there always will be those people. That is why socialists are growing among the masses, they are being directed to think that way by those in charge. I think falcon asked what is wrong with socialist education, it is that it is biased and manipulated to engender his enslavement. A real education takes work, you won't get it handed to you like a welfare check. In a country with real rights for the individual, everyone has power, not just the corrupt. In a socialist state you are at the mercy of a handful of men at the top making decisions for the millions of powerless sheep, who happily (everyone of them munching on happy-pill laced feed) bleat the latest party line and bleat about how good a education they have to know that party line.
