Well i found out i can get these for free. Good for storage right?

Should be okay... just realize that all desiccant products have a shelf life.  Most can be "recharged" by putting them in the oven. 

I'm not too familiar with those silica packs, but i use these one's, which have a colour indicator on them to let you know when you need to recharge them:


I use those strictly for storage and I use "Drierite" crystals to assist with drying, before putting into storage:

I use a dehydrator, gets them 100% cracker dry and then I vacuum seal them.

At that point they will never be exposed to any moisture or oxygen other than what's already in the bag. Which is basically nothing.

Then you don't need any desiccant:thumbup:


A Presto dehydrator is like 40 bucks at Wal-Mart.

Only if you're storing your shrooms in a shit spot. I store mine in an air tight bags or jars so the desiccant packets are useless

Good point. If you're looking for long term storage, desiccant packs in a plastic baggie aren't gonna cut it.

I've stored in a zip-lock bag with a desiccant pack for up to 6-7 months without issue though.
