OZIUM "Glycol-ized" Air Sanitizing spray ?

Hey guys...... I was just out doing some shopping and I found this product in the car care aisle.  OZIUM Glycol-ized Air Sanitizer: Says it reduces airborne bacteria, eliminates smoke odors and malodors....  Active Ingredient are: Triethylene Glycol and Propylene Glycol. 


    The box says it is a product that sanitizes the air you breathe, says it is "clinically proven to reduce odors, unlike other products that just mask odors this sanitizer dispenses micron sized particles that linger in the air and attach to airborne bacteria and malodors to drastically reduce air pollution, purify and sanitize the air.  The box says just two 1-second sprays in a 10'×14'×8' will drastically reduce airborne bacteria......???

    I AM IN NO WAY ENDORSING THIS PRODUCT!!! Just want to be clear! :wink:  !!!

        I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this product or it's effectiveness??  There are also health warnings on the package: Corrosive, causes irreversible eye damage if in eyes, use eye protection.....So that seems kinda contradictory.  Spray it in the air and don't worry about BREATHING IT BUT DON'T GET IT IN YOUR EYES??  Ok, possible red health flag then!!! Lol.

    So anyway, any of you guys have experience with this product or anything that works in a similar way???  This product was only $3 for a 0.08 oz. package, so pretty cheap. :shrug:.... who knows? 

      I haven't used this product yet and I probably won't until I learn and research more about it, as I just picked it up.

it does the same thing spraying water in the SAB does. knocks contaminants down out of the air.

Right, thanks bodhi :thumbup:,  it makes sense in principle.  This product contains basically antifreeze though....?  I prefer to use as little chemicals as possible in my environment. 

    Have you ever used any kind of product similar to this?  Is your "S.A.B spray water" have any soap added to it?  I know I could check your tek but since you're here? Lol

It does was its made for but the smell is so chemically, im sure its not good for u in a sab room.

Triethylene Glycol and Propylene Glycol are used as carriers for ecigs. PG probably accounts for 99% tho.

I still do not like the idea of breathing it unnecessarily.... proplyne glycol is also added to alot of commercially baked goods too.  This doesn't necessarily mean IT IS GOOD FOR US THOUGH.

    I think most people would agree, more research is needed on the "health effects" of vaping Proplyne Glycol.  Mankind has used lots of things before we realized we were harming ourselves.

    Also on a side note, Vegetable Glycerin is also a E-cig liquid material that I BELIEVE is probably less likely to have negative health effects....and it is also used in a lot of E-juice.

why do you think it might be more healthy because it's made from vegtables? lots of natural things are far more poisonous because natural things tend to be poisonous

vegtable glycerine is really just glycerol made from a different raw material.

Proplyne Glycol is mostly a synthetic man made substance whereas Vegetable Glycerin is made from plant oils.  Personally I feel like vegetable glycerin is less likely to produce any adverse side effect so if I was vaping I would try and choose a mostly VG, or Vegetable Glycerin based E-juice if one could be found, rather than the Proplyne Glycol. 

    When I think "Proplyne Glycol" I think "chemical anti-freeze" and poison.  Im fine with having it in my cars' cooling system, just not my baked goods and E-juices.  I just wonder why it's there and what it does is all.... :shrug:

I use Lysol and Neutra Air more cost effective , I have some Industrial Grade to but that’s for special occasions. I fog the room before I do work.

At my old job they use to wonder how I got the bathrooms clean, the females were like I can always tell when you clean the restrooms, it’s  just different for some reason when you do it. I just did what I learned to this forum, one can of AirSan in each hand for 1  minute.

If something is used in antifreeze it makes it bad.
Is the same logic that lemons would be bad because lemon oil is in some furniture polish

It is a great deodorizer if your house smells like hippie, but I have not used it to sanitize air.

Haha, to each their own I suppose.  To me it's kinda like "Well we got this stuff we use to cool our petroleum combustion engines, and it works good for that, hey let's put it in our cookies too,"  Huh? Uh, ok..... but is it good for the human body?  Does it harm us?  These are the things I wonder about Proplyne Glycol, along with other manmade food additives.  I just wonder about their effect on us by ingesting them.

I think im gonna start using it on occasion when I do m.s syringe to grain work in conjunction with my lysol bombing,  pre-bleach cleaning, alcohol work,  and air purifier to help disinfect my still air S.A.B room. 

      A little insurance in the form of a product that helps knock down the number of bacteria in the air can't hurt.  I always wait at least a half hour or so after lysoling bfore re-entering a workspace.  That stuff will make ya feel like shit...

Wow......Thank You Mushboy for that link.  Pretty much all my questions answered! Haha.  Awesome, yes im thinking I may start giving light during colonization of my monos. I usually drape a towel over em for insulation as well as to maintain relative darkness but I think with the things I am learning I will start to integrate light into my spawn run periods.
