You raise a fair point Con I may not be totally over my old sexual desires. However as far as my conscious mind is concerned I no longer think about it.

right on, thats fair enough

in reflection of my own celibacy i would say it has me feeling rather vivacious and chaste, as well as a dollop of virtuosity to calm the nerves

Don't despair for my first five years I had a rough go of it plus the pornography addiction. However once you reach that pink cloud it is incredibly liberating spiritual even. I can see why monks and mystics of old abstained very interesting things can happen mentally...

Yes I have had intensely religious experiences. Sometimes in prayer I can see spirits it's like tripping but you are in the drivers seat.

what do you really think is factoring in on that though? i would be hard pressed to believe that it was just celibacy that produced those results.

I believe it. Lust clouds the mind. Without lust, u can think clearly.

I failed last nite. I couldnt stop thinking about my previous experiences at strip clubs. I couldnt stop obsessing about beautiful naked women.

I looked at nude photos then watched a Beautiful Agony video then splooged because its "not techniqically porn" :nonono:

I couldnt last 4 days. So sad. But right after i sploogedx i was back to my sober brain again. Maybe i will just try cutting back then going cold turkey. Maybe going cold turkey isnt realisitic at this point for me : /

to be honest i dont think celibacy is really about the sex at all....at least not for the purposes i find it useful for

i find it useful for expanding areas of my life that regular focus on sex and the people i (want to) have sex with hinders heavily

i often think of what i would be like if i actually achieved what was once my dream of marrying my ex, its a scary thought honestly

It really depends on what u are trying to do. Trading a sex addiction for porn addiction is obviously not a good thing, and is likely as damaging as a sex addiction, but probably less so i would argue. But still not good.

I spend lots of time in prayer that coupled with the celibacy is what causes it. Its also totally random to.

Yes go big or go home. My first five years of "celibacy" I accomplished nothing spiritually due to the masturbation.

Personally, no. I feel masturbation is important for good health. I have gone 22 days without at longest and I feel it did nothing good for me. Quite the opposite in fact.

For me, the purpose of my 18 months of celibacy was to learn myself on a deeper level without the distraction of romantic relationships in my life, and for that it worked wonders. As someone that has pretty much been in and out of constant relationships from age 18 - 32 it was a profound and learning experience.

I know some people tout the benefits of non-masturbation but it's horses for courses, right? Perhaps said people have low testosterone. I'm pretty sure I don't...
