Im going to throw a tournament and whoever wins is the best fighter from the best school, including anyone who didnt compete in my tournament for whatever reason.

Its laughable that Bruce Lee would be brought into this to defend the arbitrary pedestal UFC fans put UFC on, considering that Lee never competed.

"Anyone who disagrees with me doesnt know what they're talking about, doesnt do martial arts and is arrogantly asserting themselves against the universal truth of my gyms superiority as proven by god."

No, what's laughable is you holding on so tightly, so feverishly, to your narrow minded view of martial arts, self defence and human performance :themoreyouknow:

P.s.  mma is being talked about and not UFC specifically.  UFC is not a martial art.  Newb :douchewink:

Im not holding onto anything.

The thing is my mind is capable of grasping that there is always far more to anything worth calling an art than one person can understand, there are more schools and teachers than could be reliably listed. You assume to know enough to dismiss every single martial art as inferior to a cosmopolitan approach.

And then you call me narrowminded, when all you see is restricted to what you assume to know, ignoring what you dont.

Put simply, I accept the limitations of an individuals understanding.  I dont assume one approach is "THE BEST EVER PERIOD" because no one could know such thing, or if the possibility even exists.

Your "open mindness" is a completely cloaked insecurity at its core. Like...do you have any examples to prove what you are claiming?

Good luck with that   you seem unable to grasp realities of how the evolution of martial arts has progressed.

You are definitely right moonshoe.  Anyone claiming otherwise is being obtuse or ignorant.

Many traditionalists who specialize in one, many life long masters, also display the same behaviour being displayed by some here.

The gracies were famous for "proving" their martial arts superior to any other style.  There are many old videos of them schooling kung fu, hapkido, karate, etc.  These are people who would even cheat and try to land a cheap blow after tapping.  They were so frustrated....to learn a lifetime of dedication to their art was so ineffective. Lol

And now...the gracies can't or couldn't handle your typical top tier mma fighter.  Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie Anyone?

The martial arts have involved into the hybrid beast that is "mma".  It is Bruce Lee's vision.

Even if the rules were scrapped and joint manipulation was legal, eye gouging or whatever  (all stuff attempted before regard less of the rules), you would still find the same guys at the top.  They would just add more tools to their tool box.

How anyone can argue that mma today is not the most effective and complete martial arts system available, is laughable.

But martial arts is like religion to some people.  Until they get their ass kicked, they will always spout off lol.

I think studying the old traditional martial arts has advantages on the road to becoming a complete fighter.  And one aspect in regards to that especially is the philosophical and mental aspect.  These ancient martial arts have some really great things to teach.

Lol.

You dont know every martial art, every school or teacher.
Keep asserting that your gym is the best in history all you like.

Arrogant fools.

Insecurity about being ignorant to the facts and realities of the evolution of self defence and human performance

Or

insecurity about whatever singular martial arts you hold on a pedestal

I'm still waiting for some examples, video preferred, of some system of combat or martial arts skill, that trumps mma in your view?

Please oh please post a frank dux video or something

Reading comprehension, if you dont understand the other sides argument, dont argue.

I dont hold any martial art on a pedestal and my entire argument is that only an idiot would do so.

Don't ever fuck with me. I will beat your ass into the ground. And laugh at you while I do it. I don't much care for fighting I just learned to defend myself. But you will lose. Most people think they need to defend me.

I never really understood it but I thank them every time. It's nice to know people got you're back.

Just the other day I had someone come up to me that did have my back. If he ever bullies you again come to me. Uhh I wasn't being bullied but I appreciate the thought.

Quick question...are you high right now? ...highlighting your ignorance on the evolution of martial arts now equates to saying "my gym is the best"?
