If you want to study martial arts look for a school where the master is always stoned and the students goof off and laugh at the untrained.

I honestly don't know anything about you.

Are you active military?

I grew up shooting. Last time I shot a friend of mine asked me if I wanted a turn. Ahhhhhh yessss. The're i'snt a meme for how good i felt. AR-15's are badass weapons overall. Cost 2 bucks a shell after a wide right I asked him do I get a prize? as I shredded everything in exhistance. Haha good time's. I'm more inaccurate. If your sights our wrong.

Most people dunno that they can tweak there sights. In my gun experience id be the one in the grass 400 yards away. with a 30.06. I grew up in alaska this is what fed our family was killing animals and fish. I'd pray for a moose god damnit i'm so tired of eating fish.

Man..I've yet to still fire an assault rifle.

It's not like a dream of mine or anything, but I'm sure it's fun as hell.

My little SA-22 is great fun for small game hunting.

I've fired a M-4 and it's amazing. A 13 year old could pick that up and start nailing bulls eyes at 1-200 yards . Probably not 200 but my point is it's incredibly accurate. Rips through steel like butter too.
Plus the kickback is the same as a .22 cal

Ah man the report is just enough to make your skin crawl. Pa and I would just stare down the scopes. long before cell phones. I killed that moose. No fuck off I did. That was our conversations. Shooting is incredibly fun but that was with 30.06'We

We were on different sides of the hill. I always thought i'd make a good sniper.

Krav maga is for if they have a pistol bat or knife- armed combat. MMA is for unarmed combat. If you have both you are as well prepared as any e can be.

That depends on your athleticism, who trained you, how far you are in training, and your grit.

Your blanket assertion of one path being superior to another is flawed, you probably have more extensive MMA training than Mike Tyson but Id bet on him in a fight between you two. Boxing is "inferior" right?

I always get bored watching MMA.  They throw some blows, but then you're supposed to lock up and kill the opponent.  They're not allowed to do anything in MMA.

All other things (athleticism etc) being equal, an MMA fighter has a massive advantage over a boxer in a real confrontation.

The only reason you have any difficulty understanding this is because you have no background in martial arts yourself. What I am saying is not controversial . The vast majority of boxers freely admit that boxing is not equal to MMA as a self defence or real combat system.

If you had two identical twins and trained one in MMA and the other in boxing the MMA trained twin would have a massive advantage in a real fight despite the two being physically identical.

It's obvious that having a complete set of tools and being prepared for every possible aspect of fighting is better than having a limited set of tools and being trained in only a few aspects of fighting.

It's not a question of apples and oranges. It's a question of a single piece of fruit versus the whole basket.

Here's a random video covering a weapon drill in Philipino martial arts.  The Filipinos did it a long time ago.
In our silat we have many more dynamic drills that tie everything together.

I do have years of training, its just not something to brag about considering everyone else does as well. My background would be considered MMA too... kick boxing, tkd, Bjj, little pieces from here and there.

Overall I dont view all fighting styles as equal, but I also dont think 1 or 2 stand above the rest. As far as kung fu goes, the term is ambiguous, much like saying "Indian Music", what specific form from which school and teacher? You've rounded off tens or hundreds of thousands into a dozen, that doesnt fit.

In any case my own studies will continue in the MMA direction, including BJJ, ideally Judo, Krav and Wing chun. The only question is if I'll compete... being a musician means I have to take care of my hands and Id like to avoid brain damage.

Ive been busting your balls, but you do seem to have your act together, so congratulations on that.

Guess I should clarify, I dont think MMA is better than in depth study of one MA. Im just a curious cosmopolitan.
