Re: Transgenders in Sports... Should They Play? [Re: TheFakeSunRa]
    #24457263 -

They don't do team gymnastics in the Olympics or professional competitions but team gymnastics is a thing. I suppose it's more dancy though, it runs under the label of ballet more often. But that has kind of bled into traditional gymnastics, especially for women's. They need to do alot of posing and smiling and semi-dancing when on the floor.

I'd have more respect for the sport if it weren't... well what ice skating has become. You know how all these competitions get set up so that we can see the most agile most skilled athletes the world has to offer? Well it's nice and all... but where's the prettyness? Lets make it prettier and flashier because the skill alone isn't enough to attract modern audiences that usually don't even understand what they're watching. You know as well as I do very few people watch women's gymnastics because they care about the sport. They're watching to check out some fit ass.
Which is why men's gymnastics is televised even less than women's.

Being an exceptional athlete doesn't really mean very much unless they're hot too.

This girl Heather in high school was our running back and made varsity her sophomore year. Tiny little thing hit like a truck and ran like a champ.

I work for a package service and we have some women whose strength is unworldly. I've seen some of them take 200lb grills and throw them up on the third belt (overhead press) like it's nothing. One of the girls who works third belt is scary strong. Petite little thing. I wouldn't wanna fight her haha. Most of the women who stay end up being stronger than a lot of men and last longer. After years of doing thousands of 100+ lb packages they sure do get strong. I know it's gonna be a good day when the crybabies call out and they pull the women into unload. Fast and strong and they never burn out holy fuck.

There's no question there are strong women out there. But if you were to pit them against strong and athletic men, they'd lose. I mean, if you look at the Olympic records in almost every sport, men always beat women in every record. I think the only time a woman beat a man was in one of those 3-day ultra marathons, and that's because fat really helps you with stamina.

You should search on YouTube "Chyna VS Joey Buttafuco boxing match." Chyna is easily one of the strongest women out there in existence, she could bench press over 350+lbs. She was in the peak of her fitness at the time she did the boxing match, was on a shit ton of steroids, but she still lost to an out of shape old man in his 60's.

Now, there are SOME sports where high school boys and girls can compete. Like wrestling, especially for the featherweight weight divisions. There was a 15 year old girl in Alaska who competed against boys, and she won the state championships competing against them. But she was mostly competing against other 14-15 year old boys who were 100lbs, who clearly hadn't gone through puberty completely yet.

Moonshoe said:
Transgender people need their own seperate divisions. Its completely unfair for them to compete with cys men or cys women. They need their own seperate divisons for Male to female and female to male transgender people respectively.

The most striking demonstration of this is male to female transgender MMA fighter Falun Fox who although born and went through puberty as a man (and thus has very different physical characteristics such as greater bone density and muscle mass) competes against cys women and physically dominates them.

Its completely unfair. When a person goes through puberty as a man they will always be stronger than someone who went through puberty as a woman. They should obviously not be excluded from participation in sports, neither should they be allowed to compete with cys people.

Simplest and best solution- four seperate categories of competition for cys males, cys females, M to F and F to M trans people respectively.

Its not perfect, but its by far the best option.

I've always said Fallon Fox is a cheater for this very reason. It's no wonder she has a practically unbeatable record.

The last woman she fought Tamikka Brents said this about Fallon Fox: “I’ve fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night. I can’t answer whether it’s because she was born a man or not because I’m not a doctor. I can only say, I’ve never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right,” she stated. “Her grip was different, I could usually move around in the clinch against other females but couldn’t move at all in Fox’s clinch…

“I still disagree with Fox fighting,” Brents stated. “Any other job or career I say have a go at it, but when it comes to a combat sport I think it just isn’t fair. At least not until we have more scientific proof that it is or isn’t fair. More research is needed for sure. Like I said, I am not a doctor, I can only say my opinion and I don’t believe that she should be allowed to fight other women. If it were strictly BJJ or wrestling or something like that sure, but MMA is a completely different sport.”

Which makes me wonder... is there any researcher or organization that is researching and recording this kind of stuff so that we can more accurately make regulations in the future and it won't be entirely based on opinion or... are we just kinda drifting out into open water for no reason? Because it's more dramatic that way...?

The science behind anatomical differences of men and women have been studied extensively...

Transgenders of course are more of a new phenomenon in society (well not new, but people have only recently become aware of it), and I'm sure in the future they will research the differences between transgendered people and men and women more thoroughly.

But you don't need a study to tell you that a female who is taking testosterone is going to be much stronger than a natural female. That is simply common sense. There's a reason "doping" is not allowed in practically all sports.

Instead, all we have are a bunch of first-hand accounts where we see that transgender athletes clearly have an advantage over female athletes.

I don't know if you read the link I posted about the transgender track star, but:

Quote:
Buried in The Day's report about the race was this fact: "Yearwood (the transgender athlete) ran for the boys' track team in middle school before transitioning to female." In the 100-meter dash, Yearwood won with a time of 12.66 seconds, beating Hall's 12.83 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Yearwood took first with 26.08 seconds, and Hall placed third with 26.65 seconds.

As The Stream's Rob Shimshock noted, Yearwood's time would have put her in last place in the boy's race. The last-place finisher for the boys' 100-meter dash was Shayne Beckloff, a junior from Waterford High School, with a time of 11.73 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Terrance Gallishaw, a senior from O'Brien Tech, took last with 25.59 seconds.

I actually wouldn't even say that women dominate men in gymnastics.... because depending on what you're doing, such as rings, it requires a shit ton of upper body strength.

This is the sort of thing a male gymnast would be better at than a female gymnast...

Notice these types of gymnasts tend to be jacked, it's because it requires a ton of strength!

What about kids that go on puberty blockers and have a puberty that matches their brain sex?
Transwomen like me are gonna die out
to the point where a good portion will be trans people
who had the correct puberty, instead of me who is finally
getting the correct puberty...
and they will be indistinguishable from cis people more or less.

I've only been on T blocks for 9 months
and I could still prolly whoop most women
I'm not sure how years and years of not producing testosterone
effects TransgenderToFemale muscles, but I know I have gotten noticably weaker.

I could see that being more of a compelling case, if they were on hormone blockers starting as children... There needs to be some definitive science on it first though. Because hormones are only one of many ways male and female anatomy differs. Hormones can't change DNA, for example... so I'm wondering if it would alter your bone density or not.

But, I don't think transwomen like you will die out though. Few parents would be okay with their children transitioning that young. Even parents who are more accepting of transitioning, would want their kids to wait until they are at least 15 or 16 and mature enough to make a permanent decision like that... and many kids have already gone through a bit of puberty by those ages.

And then there are the large portions of parents who wouldn't accept it or tolerate it at all, so in this case the child would have to transition at a later age when they could afford it on their own.

This is a classic derailment of an argument everyone
we are NOT here to argue whether puberty blockers is child abuse
make a new thread for that
the truth is there is, will be and are transpeople
who started puberty blockers
And those need to be accoutned for
that is the argument.

No it's a relevant point. That's your problem if you can't handle the fact that he's making it. It's asinine to have a conversation and try to shit on people for having it unless it's specific and in your terms. Conversation doesn't work like that. That's why the derailment rule rarely gets enforced.

It is child abuse. Anyone who lets a kid do this shit is retarded. Puberty blockers? That's honestly terrible. If trans culture starts abusing children more and more just for the sake of fitting in and being PC - then something should be done about it. Kids can't make competent decisions, that's why they have parents. Anyone who can't understand that needs their head examined.

All in all - it makes your point about puberty blocking hormones invalid because child abuse shouldn't support an entertainment industry. Any decent society or person wouldn't allow it.

They shouldn't, though. That's exactly why I said the Texas (female to male) transgender who competed against other girls wasn't fair at all.... because her being a female to male transgender, gets pumped full of testosterone. That basically means she's on steroids and already gives her a huge advantage above the other girls. It's no wonder she won!

Ahhhh! Its so complicated! :wtfsonic:

Transgender should compete againist only other transgender, OR only people who use steroids. Like a "steroids are fair game" sport.

It's totally relevant.. she brought it up.

I don't even know how it could be up for debate. The idea of a child being given ANY drug that isn't medically necessary is fucking retarded. It is child abuse. Anyone who would advocate otherwise should not be allowed to have children. Children cannot make these decisions. Since when do you take children seriously? They don't know anything.. especially about themselves. The younger me would never have guessed what he became

The fact that there are kids currently, and already post transition VERY means its up for debate.  If it wasn't up for debate, it wouldn't be happening. According to YOU it's child abuse, according to me, it is usually not. That's a debate. OF COURSE each of thinks we have the moral highground, but that is also irrelevant to my question.

Anyway, no one answered my question but rather dodged
There are many trans people out there who went on puberty blockers
Where do they fit in sports?
Whether it is child abuse is irrelevant to that question.

Usually not? It's always abuse. You obviously don't understand kids and just want to play devil's advocate because it relates to how you live your life. There is no validation, only fucked up people who shouldn't have kids. Every single living person at some point crosses the idea in their mind of, "What if I'm gay? What's it like being gay? What's it like to be the opposite sex?" Normal thoughts. Kids are dumb and influential, and most of all they need the time to think about their dumb thoughts instead of being validated for having them and posing themselves a question. I wanted to be a doctor, and a firefighter. My parents never told me I was either of those things. Big decisions need only be personal and made by an adult.

But where do the mentally and physically abused children belond in the matter? Where they belong. :cookiemonster:

It honestly annoys the fuck out of me that with this concept of being trans, people accept they are different and insist on changing it, yet want everyone else to tell them they are normal and shouldn't be treated differently. If so many transfolk didn't expect so much out of society, more than the average person, then people wouldn't get so pissy about it. Anyone can say "I was this but I need to be this." Whatever, don't care. It's no different than anyone else because everyon has problems. Not every black or native person goes off about genocide or slavery and to me the transpeople that insist on this special treatment are no different. A proud trans person shouldn't be offended if someone thinks they're a man and they shouldn't shy from telling people.

If someone was a man they should play with the men, anyone else who wants to roid out with hormones should find leagues that support steroid use and play with them. If you're gonna use roids it probably doesn't make much a difference if you're a man or a woman. Unless you're talking contact sports like football or even MMA. If you're different then be different, don't expect people to respond well when you ask for special treatment, even if you see it as "fitting in."

Parents don't choose if their kids are trans
Kids don't choose if they are trans.
Transgenderness has symptoms as obvious as aspergers, and hell
I'd argue even as obvious as an abcessed tooth.
It's not something people choose to have,
thus making treatment medically necessary.
I'd argue you don't really understand this disorder, and the several forms of manifestations and symptoms that come with it.
I didn't choose to be a Nigger, which is the only fitting word
I can only really feel comfortable calling myself in relation
to the rest of society.

Anyway, I say let kids who go on puberty blockers play sports
Maybe have trans people who started post-pubescent be shit out of luck
that's what I would say.

Well puberty blockers actually kinda evens out the playing field for a MTF if they start early, before puberty even has a chance to come in. Like I said before boys and girls aren't all that different anatomically, until puberty.

People have been using puberty blockers long before the trans teenager became a thing. The problem is not that they are used for underaged transition but rather we have absolutely no reliable guidelines to be able to confidently say they are transgender. Psychologists tend to say whatever the fuck they want, whatever makes a happier patient often enough, and can't be trusted. Most of them don't have any semireliable way to help determine a trans person vs an identity confused child.

But you're right. That's not the point. The point here is that there's no guidelines for transgender children at all and people are just doing whatever the hell they feel like. That's been leading to problems. Cuz frankly our opinions don't mean shit. The athletic advisors and directors opinions don't mean shit. There are people that are responsible for this that should be researching, collecting data, and establishing guidelines.

The keyword is kid. The kid can say whatever they want. When it's a kid, the parent is making the decision. I don't care if it is a legitimate disorder or not. Not every trans person has a disorder, it would be asinine to assume that. You can say they don't choose it all you want, however valid it may be it's a personal decision that should be made by an informed adult. So in that sense in your example I would conclude that yes, the parent does choose.

First of all I think most people have high expectations with other people.. That's why most of us have an air of perpetual disappointment.

Second of all... That's kinda contradictory. I mean let's say that one of these kids did transition pre puberty. They might have slightly masculine characteristics, like a masculine nose or jawline, plenty of natural born women have those characteristics too... So the only way you would really know is if they told you. Why would they tell you if you then treat them differently? why should they be proud? you know alot of the "annoyingness" in the LGBT movement comes from false pride?

I honestly wish we could treat all people like people because unless they're a child molesting kitten murdering ISIS piece of shit they are still a person.

I agree though, that children shouldn't be transitioning until the DSM or whatever psychiatric guidelines they use these days has a solid guideline and solid science for it. Right now we don't even really have such a thing for adults. We can't have that for children.

They should be proud because they are who they are. The first step to being respectable is first respecting yourself. The second you push people away and victimize yourself is when people see the division of you vs me. Yeah some people suck, but that's normal. Every single god damn person has SOMETHING about them that someone would truly be reviled by. That's the way thing are.

I used to be pretty fat, you see. I used to wear my differences too. I've had a lot of poor comments and seen a lot of shitty things said by people. Even had people try to beat me up because they thought it would be funny. When it truly started changing is when I accepted myself for who I am and embraced my differences. Ever seen a fat guy make a fat joke? They're great! That's how you respect a fat guy.
