Now obviously, I don't think this is fair. This person has gone through male puberty, has thicker bone density, larger muscle mass, etc., and she shouldn't be competing against girls. This person couldn't even get on the boy's varsity team of her own high school previously, and yet she could win the girl's state championships. What does that tell you?!?! This person stole the 1st place award from a girl who really deserved it.

There's another example of a Texas transgender wrestler (female to male) who played on the girl's wrestling team because he wasn't allowed to play on the boys, and he won the championship. Now, I'm all for transgender rights and everything. If you want to become a man or a woman, go for it. Pursue your dreams. And I'm even okay with transgender people playing sports in high school; they shouldn't be barred from playing sports, because sports helps makes you a well-rounded person, and being physically active improves a lot of good things for your health.

But they should NOT be competing and winning titles like this, until we know more about the science behind transgender athleticism.

I'm somewhat okay with a female to male transgender competing against other males. Because while the playing field is not exactly even and the transgender person would still be at some small disadvantage in this case, it's a lot more fair than the reverse. I'm definitely NOT okay with male to female transgenders competing against women.

In an ideal world, male to female transgenders should compete with other male to female transgenders, and female to male transgenders would compete with other female to male transgenders. But unfortunately, this is clearly not possible, since in many schools throughout the United States, there will often be only 1, MAYBE 2, transgender students at all.

What do you think should happen to transgenders in sports, should they play against men or women?

They shouldn't, though. That's exactly why I said the Texas (female to male) transgender who competed against other girls wasn't fair at all.... because her being a female to male transgender, gets pumped full of testosterone. That basically means she's on steroids and already gives her a huge advantage above the other girls. It's no wonder she won!

The end result is, if you're trans and you compete against birth-born girls, you can more easily win despite whatever gender you're transitioning from/to.

If you compete against guys you're prolly gonna lose tho

I think they should stay with their original gender for purposes of sports.

However, it does call into question whether sports need to be differentiated by gender. If people can surgicallly alter themselves and take steroids, it's almost like it's one big biological battle royale.

Just sayin, lol. But yeah it's way too fine a line in the case of transitioning.

It's really like if you're serious about sports you'd better just keep your birth body lol.

That's........ kind of genius, actually. I'd pay to watch that.

There SHOULD be a league where anything goes. Steroids, performance-enhancing drugs, mind-altering drugs, booze, etc.

Professional bodybuilding is the only sport I know of which doesn't drug test, but there really should be a league like that for football, soccer, track, and pretty much every other sport too.

They should have to go up against people just like them, so if its "male to female" they should go up against "male to female", and if its "female to male" they should have to against "female to male".

I'm about 99% sure I've had more ban points than anyone else ever has on the Shroomery. I've just built up enough support and connects with the mods to where as a whole they decided to just let me do my thing. I used to get banned like all the time a few years back

Idk really tough call. I almost want to say someone who transitions and is on drugs should not complete. Both really result in no contest. Either the male to female will have a significant advantage over the other female competitors.  Or the female to male will have a significant disadvantage over the other males... So they both really ruin the game or sport for the other competitors..
It's unfair to compete against biological females when your a male
And unfair to the males when a female to male wants to play on their team. Could be a case to case basis. But I think the female to male would be at a significant disadvantage and would ruin the flow, as the other competitors would feel bad for him and maybe not want to try as hard as to not hurt him etc. It also wouldn't be fair to team with the trans as he would obviously be a weak link..

Idk all these issues are just showing how fucked and complicated this world is..
Like the first link. Is really fair that when ONE person needs to to accommodated the rest have to live with it and suffer?
