Portobello, I believe are just mature white button (Agaricus bisporus) fruit bodies.  I'm pretty sure they require manure and a casing layer.  There's a gourmet/edible forum here, might be worth it posting there.

Portabellos are also secondary decomposers.  They won't work being spawned to coir/very/gypsum like cubes.

Portabellos require their substrate to be digested by other microbes first.  Portobellos can't grow indoors next to a cube farm for this reason.  Microbes from the portobello bulk substrate will infect a cube bulk substrate.

Compost some wheat straw, and manure for Portabellos.

The portobello sub needs to be pasteurized, the cube substrate will also be pasteurized... technically you could use the same pasteurized manure sub for both. So how will one infect the other?

I think he means next to a cube grow with lots of grain in it.
