Portobello Mushrooms

Does anybody know where to get information and spores pretaining to Portobello mushrooms? The only way I can think of to get a hold of the proper spores and substrate is to get a pregrown kit and make prints and examin the substrate. Thanks very much to those who help me out.

Personally, I'd start with a culture from a biologicals vendor (there are lots of them). Bear in mind that portabello's are just mature crimini/cermini. (Also remember there are lots of names/spellings for lots of edibles!). Sometimes, results from store cloned mushrooms are not wonderful...we're talking bad genes.....and it'd be a shame to go to all this trouble to find out that you weren't lucky.

As previously stated, you're looking at doing compost substrate.
