They are cultivated in the same way as cubensis.

If you really want to know how to grow these mushrooms use thesee steps.
-first obtain a print or culture (sometimes this can be hard)
-secound grow it out on agar (MEA)
-use millet or rye berries I prefer millet
-next you are going to have to do a bulk tek. a straw dung bulk tek. I do not know your growing experience so I do not know if you can do this right the first time so I suggest you have a couple of petri dishes with good growth on them since you can mess up really quick.
-once you have pasturized you straw and dung it is time to place spawn into the straw and dung.
-give this 2 to 3 weeks to get some good growth and keep it in a dark warm place.
-after 2 or 3 weeks you should see white growth on the straw take a fork or paper clip and scratch surface really good you want to get down about 1 ince to an inch and a half.
- next step is a casing I used peatmoss sifted very well. no sticks. and crused oyster shell. you want you casing moist not soaked and have it about 1/2 inch thick water and give light to your casing. and wall la you will have portabello's comming out nicely.

Better go to a grocery store, buy some portabello mushrooms, clone them on agar, prepare rye grain spawn and use this to inoculate compost.

This is an exciting find written 18 yrs ago on shroomery.org

In 1960s Agaricus Bisporus was grown successfully in spawn bags then using favourite Shitake substrates produced equal amount of harvest to manure methods. Plus substrate was pasteurised 110°C for 20 minutes. No chemicals needed.
