POT SHOTS: 150wHPS/100wMH grow cab: HARVEST PICTURES!!

The setup is near completion...we just need to install our ventilation system which will consist of two 80mm computer fans for an intake near the bottom (pictured below) and two more 80mm fans for an exhaust near the top. Currently we have an 80mm fan that hangs from the HPS reflector and an air purifier blowing over the plants, this really has helped to develop some strong main stems. Also, we are adding a 100W MH for flowering, this should really help because we will probably will be flowering at least 3-4 plants (out of 8) and a 150W hps would not be sufficient by itself. Well, now that you know a bit about our setup, take a look at these pictures and give me some comments!!

reflective white paint/tin-foil my friend. Can't be letting all those rays of light that the HPS is putting out go to waste. You should also get some CO2 to those plants, so talk to them every day.

Well, right now we have an emergency blanket in there which reflects about 25% better than foil, however, we are soon putting in some mylar because we do need every last lumen of that bulb to hit those plants.

Tin foil is bad. Use white paint or emergency blankets. Tin foil can cause hot-spots and actually burn your plants! Here WAS my 400w HPS with a cool tube and 285CFM dayton blower. Clone/veg room and electrical room. Dual 6" 24v DC fans in the flower box, top and bottom. Couple fan on the inside to strengthen stems and move more air around. That thing was pimp.

They just started to bud under the 400w HPS. They were started under fluoros and moved to HPS. Soil mix was 1 part soil, 1 part perilite with some calcium with the soil for pH balance. It is a good mix. And on another note I agree that those plants need to be transplanted. Get them into some big pots, they love the room.

Or is it for fresh air exchange or a little bit of both

The plants in the small cups were transplanted into 6" pots today, the soil mixture we are using is 2 parts peat 1 part perlite and 1 part vermiculite, nice loose soiless mix, should promote lots of healthy root growth. We plan on transplanting the bigger ones into 3 gallon pots any day now, just recieved the 100MH in the mail today and we are going to throw it in there and begin flowering in a week or so, I will post some updates soon, the plants have really grown since the last set of pics, peace.

The blower and cool tube are just to cool the light. 400w is a lot for a box that size. You can leave your hand on the cool tube for as long as you want and you don't get burned. It is a 4" bread tube I got off ebay called a bake-a-round. I think it was $15. The blower was $85 though. I liked it a lot temps were always below 80F.

The plants are now 1 week into flower, one male was identified and taken out which sucks because it was a nice big plant. A 100 watt MH was added to provide extra light for flowering, we also intend on putting up more reflective material. More fans will be added soon because temps are hitting 85-90 at some points due to the heat around here. The two big plants on the left have both been topped and are comming along nicely. All of the plants are now planted in a soiless mix that consists of 2 parts peat moss, 1 part vermiculite, and 1 part perlite. We used superthrive during the transplants and used fertilizer once, I am going to get some fish emulsion with kelp as well to finish them off with. Hopefully the budsites start forming soon! Peace.

i saw in your first post that u use a fan on both inhaust and exhaust, that isnt a great idea actually, it will work better with only fan on exhaust , main reason is because it doesnt give the air movement you really want in your grow room and also you most likely has odor leak at your intake. other than that it looks ok. 6" pots are also small imo tho, i use 10" , the bigger pots the bigger buds simple as that but thats not a must.

I was wondering somthing with this whole light business. I was going to get 2 400watt floru's (for veging and flowering). but the more i read i see everone only use's them for veging. Money is always a concern and i can get the 400watt for 40 bucks each. So what type of light will get me through the whole process for a resonable price? I will be trying 6-8 plants for my first time and have a whole basement to use if i ned the space. thnx in advance-LJ

hps vs floro => hps wins hps is superior in just about every way including $ to floros. you can get a 150w+ hps going for <$80 either get a 150w hps secuirty light from lowes or order the ballast bulb and mogel etc from www.1000bulbs.com for much cheaper

I agree with the 1000bulbs.com reference. I built my 400w HPS from stratch with a batwing reflector for under $150. 1000bulbs.com is sweet.
