We have to keep in mind businesses like this can be very manipulative.

I would wager they catered to new wrestlers to convince them to join, maybe pay for them to party for awhile and tell them some white lies about how safe it is. Probably have them sign a contract so they can avoid all liability and compensate them minimally.

Clearly both sides are at fault somewhat but many of these guys probably weren't the smartest to begin with and I bet if you get them drunk enough and or buy them some other drugs it would be simple enough to convince them to fight.

Professional and even college football are huge unlimited ATM machines. They just sweat money. Advertising, merchandise, bill boards kids shirts footballs sneakers cleats jerseys the list goes on all the live long day. Imagine no super bowl revenue? I bet it would significantly impact the economy. They'll never let it be banned.

I know, I'm giving you shit. That's how it looked when I first read it though.

I'd say that the entertainment companies that profit off their head bashing antics should be somewhat responsible for their mental healthcare afterwards, even if it's deserved for doing dumb shit with your head. Doubly so for foot ball players. But really that should all be a part of the contract.

I grew up when Wwf was still a thing and I also grew up with reruns & vhs of ECW . They were pretty hardcore . Now the WWE is rated G literally. They can't show much skin for the female wrestlers which kind of ruins their division. It's been a sinking ship for a while.

That being said it really does seem like they treat their employees like they are in a 1800s carnival. Even if they're idiots they shouldn't have to suffer silently
