... Should have moderator privileges for the hunting forum.
Each TI shows ample maturity and on the fact mushroom id's are important, it is important for them to remove any misinformation that can be deadly. Not long ago some random gave another random information saying it looks active and good to eat, yet it was a a toxic mushroom!

I find it important that TI's should be Mods for the hunting forum.

This post was my idea and mine alone, nobody put me up to this.

MH&I does not need many mods, very few users that go there cause problems. I think its fine the way it is already. :smile:

The Shroomery is pretty amazing at catching misinformation, we have a ton of highly intelligent people.

Realistically, everyone can help moderate by clicking that little whistle at the bottom of any post that is questionable, it says "notify moderator".
It is so extremely helpful and I am thankful for the people who use this function already, it sends a message to each moderator of that forums inbox, and the message basically says "check this shit out, it's fishy. Here is a link to it" and the moderator goes and takes necessary action. Even if we had 100 mods, some bad posts would still slip through our fingers, so use the notify moderator button more! :awesomenod:

I've attached an image of the notify mod button.



Notifying a moderator is not 'reporting' the person, it's just bringing a questionable post to our attention.

Who would've thought.. a forum dedicated to mushrooms has little to no problems and needs almost no moderation.

Mods are still human. Misinformation is faster then any mod. Of course its best in your example. If op read that post first and ate it instantly then op be screwed. It takes mods maybe five mins or more to read it and destory it. I've gotten a few id's on that forum. Only about half right when checked with microscope. Agrreed make more mods and few more legal disclaimer

Mind sharing more on that? :smile:

Getting some IDs right without microscopy can be hard. Also its not hard to come up with an unexpected result with either microscopy or DNA work. :tongue:
