The thread of mine he locked REALLY pissed me off, evolution stands shoulders to shoulder if not above religion.
Apparently he wants me to come back when I get different beliefs.

yeah, that's stupid.
if I started posting threads about anthropology or how scientists have implanted electrodes into someone's head so they can move objects just by thinking about it... they would no doubt get moved to OTD, and I don't think they really belong there, OTD has too much of a "casual" feel. there needs to be a science forum.

How come space alien related topics can be put in the S&P forum? Shouldn't they be put under OTD (or better yet a Science forum)?

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

well, technically, space alien shit is just a belief system, nothing scientific about it, it belongs more in S&P than a science forum

ok thats why you shouldnt be moderator for a science forum!!!

just because YOU dont think its scientific dont mean it isn't.

we should have a forum called "AJ's Beliefs Only Forum"  :tongue:

j/k

when they make u moderator just let me post! :smile:  i'll be nice

lol
belief in alien  beings visiting earth isn't based on  the scientific method in any way shape or form :P
so it's not  technically  science
but I wouldn't personally  move all posts related to it, just wait to see the post get  criticised hardcore  :grin:
but posts about.. say... some person's personal beliefs regarding alien life forms  and how they have 'contact' with  some... that would have to go.
posts about aliens in general... that's a call I  wouldn't feel like making

ok, yeah? that's why I said it would belong in S&P and not a pure science forum?

Hmm...

*scientific talk regarding aliens and/or alien technology
---> Science & Theory Forum
*particular theories about alien diplomacy
--->Science & Theory Forum
*aliens contacted my through mushrooms
--->Science & Theory Forum
*what meditation techniques aliens taught me
--->S&P Forum
*Planet X, Nibiru, UFOs
--->Science & Theory Forum
*Literally speaking... the end of the world, armageddon (even if Bible quotes are used; also if explaining particulars about such theories)
--->Science & Theory Forum
*how various theories of armageddon and the end of the world have affected me or my mindset
--->S&P Forum
*Summoning demons through incantations
--->S&P Forum (sadly)
*Summoning aliens by manipulating the gravitational field to read like morse code
--->Science & Theory Forum
*Evolution
--->Science & Theory Forum
*Reiki effects and/or techniques and/or personal experiences
--->Science & Theory Forum
*Any other healing techniques (laying on of hands, herbs, magic pixie dust, alien technology)
--->Science & Theory Forum
*Telepathy, ESP, Astral Projection, Psychic stuff, alien abductions, Yogic Flying
--->Science & Theory Forum
*"Elves", Fairies, Pixies, Satyrs, etc.
--->Off-topic Discussion OR Esoterica Forum? maybe S&P could handle it (again, sadly)
*Morality
--->S&P Forum
*Chi, energy, whatever
---> this is tough, it would depend on the post, either S&P OR Science & Theory
*Alex Grey, Tool, music in general (except for the occasional poll)
---> also iffy, it would depend on the post

> For all scientific concerning mushrooms, yes.

there is the science of growing mushrooms.

there is also the science of mushrooms and the brain, their role in nature, evolution, etc. none of which would be in the spirit of the cultivation forum! since it is called "cultivation" no one will post non-cultivation-related material there.

Say If I wanted to discuss the chemistry involved in certain parts of the life cycle of a mushroom, or perhaps the chemistry of plants/drugs. I think there should be a new forum entitled Advanced Mycology and Science

i'd rather see a diverse range of topics, even science topics, than to see a bunch of poorly thought out, misspelled, ignorant nonsensical posts by mental rejects. posts about ufo's and fucking your grandmother and "science and philosiphy" are more annoying than thoughtful science topics.
