I know a couple people that were at that underground party in Oakland, they were some of the few that made it out safely just in time.

Having been to similar underground locations/parties out in the bay in the past, I can't even imagine.

Wtf bro.. Rip :peace:

I was at this one show once and there were hundreds of people All packed in the auditorium, barely an inch of room, anyway I remember thinking to myself like damn how awful it'd be if there was a fire cuz I nearly suffocated just going through the crowd and out the doors.. Bad enough as it is, but a fire oh noos.. *faints*..

And yea it's pretty awful what happened in Oakland, rip.. :peace:

Agreed 100 percent. Horrifying young people is the only way the lesson will stick. Pris should be charge of making those Blood on the highway films they show you in driver education class.

Horrifying. Utterly horrifying.

Should they ban pyrotechnics from indoor facilities? One mishap and shit like this is bound to happen. I mean damn just enjoy the music.

Yeah I agree. They're needs to be experienced professionals overseeing that shit, or else it shouldn't be green lighted.

I've seen some things on the internet -- some images that will haunt me forever (one here recently of a cartel torture video, no details needed)...seeing that mass of humanity literally stuck in the door trying to get out with their lives depending on it, and not being able to...that image will never leave my head for as long as I live.

It's funny I almost started a fire by accident yesterday.  Someone, possibly me, put the propane torch back in my toolbox without locking the valve switch.  I threw a wrench in there and walked away.  When I came back the little room was all gassed out :guiltyascharged: luckily I knew exactly what it was and I got it turned off right away and ventilated the room.  Scared the shit out of me though.

There was this time when I was tripping -- I was at the end of the trip and just finished smoking my last bowl before going to bed. I got this little box that I keep my pipe in. I was drunk too. I didn't think anything of it and just put the pipe in the box. I was literally heading to my bed to straight crash out; I probably would've fallen asleep the moment I hit the bed. But I noticed that I still had my lighter in my hand, and decided to put the lighter in that same box (the box was in the other room).

When I went to the other room and opened the box -- the pipe had fallen on its side and the weed in it was still smoldering...when I opened the box it was filled with black smoke and probably just moments away from catching fire. I mean it was that close. The box itself was starting to smolder.

Who knows, if I don't have that lighter in my hand, I almost assuredly go straight to sleep. And then I'm probably waking up to my apt being on fire.

Scared the shit out of me, man. Safe to say I empty the pipe now and make sure I visibly see that it's out, as opposed to just putting it away and assuming.

I was at a horrible little tiny tiny club that got torn down from the bullshit that happened there so much.  I mean they had no cover charge for minors, so you'd have fucking 12 year olds and 50 year olds dancing and moshing.

This place held like 75 people.

Sometimes they would cram well over 100 in there, they never stopped letting people in, if you could cram yourself in then you were in.

No security.

One night some dumbass icp wanna be white rap group thought it would be a good idea to have two guys spitting fire on this tiny ass stage.

No one died, but I saw 4 people's hair go up and flames and their faces so badly burned the whole place got evacuated.  They were lucky to live.  That place only lasted a few months after that.

Update:  officials say that a faulty refrigerator may have have caused this fire

https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxnews.com/us/2016/12/06/refrigerator-may-have-sparked-deadly-oakland-warehouse-fire-official-says.amp.html?client=safari

The building was crammed with rugs, old sofas and a garage-sale-like collection of pianos, paintings, turntables, statues and other items that quickly fed the flames

I get a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach every time I think about this incident or see something in the news about it.

I've been to parties and concerts at so many warehouses just like this - some probably even worse and more deadly if they were to catch fire - one warehouse had a gigantic maze/labyrinth all throughout it where the walls were made of books, it was beautiful and amazing, and yes, it got shut down eventually. I remember being so disappointed if a good underground place got shut down due to zoning laws...while this probably won't stop me from going to said lawless party places, I definitely am going to be much much more wary and this is gonna stay on my mind for a while, I already usually scope out exits and my 'exit strategy' at places like this, because so much stuff could go wrong, but funnily enough I never thought about the most obvious one - a fire(that book warehouse could've gone up like a match box now that I think about it..but no one did except for the people enforcing zoning laws).

I feel terrible for those who died(and of course their families)....they were my people, for sure.

I heard there was some kind of "art maze" inside that people were lost / trapped and burned in? Pretty horrific way to die
