In Europe, some puffballs have been found weighing over 600 pounds. The ones in the picture are from New Zealand

Amanitas Muscaria, possibly? I have pics of some huge A. Muscaria I found at the edge of a meadow during a backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Caps the size of a dinner plate.

Yeah, we get huge amanita over here, usually only in the winter. Some would be bigger than dinner plates. The real big ones seem to have less spots, is this a different variety?
