I have that same little stuffed mushroom. How many cakes did your loaf use per tin? They've got alot of nice growth there. That one in the last pic is huge.

Everything below refers to a series of dreams I've been having:Anyday, Each mini loaf pan has 1/2 of a 1/2 pint cake in it. About 3/4in of damp vermiculite on the bottom, then the crumbled cake and about 1/in of casing soil on top. I just use Shultz Potting Soil without fertilizer. Its pretty much the SOS Tek in bread pans. The Pans are about 5 2/3in x 3 1/3 x 1 7/8 (14.5cm x 8.4 x 4.7cm) btw. Shaker
Time to make the honuts!

Half of a half pinter???????? Holy shit what have I been doing wrong??? That's excellent man, keep up the grande work!Didjya deep scratch or anything? I want to know exactly what you did here. I have a few half pinters ready to birth, but if I can get these results, I want to do this instead. That would mean I would have 4 trays (2 cakes=4halves). Please explain in depth.... Excellent results Shaker! Congratulations for the great pics. Some questions for your LOAF: Are the casings sitting on top of perlite?? if not how are you providing humidity? how about air exchange? Also, did you let the casings recover in the tub? The below refers to a dream I had about growing mushrooms.melter9or, Yep, 1/2 of a 1/2 pint. Here is what I did for you and planky. For each 1/2 pint cake I took two small bread pans (W-Mart or a dollar store) and put about 1/2 to 3/4 of and inch of vermiculite wetted with a 50/50 mix of water and h202 solution. On top of that I crumbled 1/2 a cake and gave it a misting with the 50/50 mix. Next I put on a 1/4 inch layer of casing soil (Shultz Brand potting soil) that was also wetted with the 50/50 mix. After casing I covered each pan with plastic wrap and a rubber band around the rim and stuck them in a clean crawer for two or three days at about 75F, until the mycelium really started coming out of the casing. I didn't deep scratch but I did knock down the mycelium with some h202 solution, about 10% h202 - 90% water, until it was coming up in quite a few places. Once it was breaking the surface good I put the pans in a Sterilite box with damp perlite on the bottom and a drip shield then kept them at room temp for about another two days, but I'd put them at 80F next time. Thats pretty much it. I misted twice a day, morning and night with the 10/90 mix and fanned them maybe three times a day, morning, evening and late. Took about a week from putting them in the box to getting the first fruit. I just hope I can dream as well next time! Shaker <--- High.....so high. Plankton, They are on perlite and I fanned about 3 times a day. I assume you mean letting them recover after casing? No, it was in a drawer. More detail above. Shaker Thanks for the kind words! I had to really step on the pics to be able to post them...20k limit and all. When I get time to work on it again I'm going to finish my Tek.

It looks to me like you have high CO2... that is why the stems are so long and stringy and the caps are so small. More fresh air!Still, good work though

It may be CO2 buildup but I think it has to do with him using 1/4 pint per tin. It may be his substrate layer is a little thin. So instead of getting thick stems, he got thin ones. Using this same strain, my friend supposedly got similar results with an equally thin substrate layer and LOTS of fanning.------------------ -there is no spoon-
