not enough information to go on.
What power supply does this computer have? Please take a photograph of it inside showing the expansion slots. If it has a vertical slot then you'll be able to fit full sized graphics cards in it. If it's half sized, it tends to be budget only that's on par with integrated graphics.
A PCI-E slot can give up to 75W of power. A six pin PCI-E socket can give up to 75W of power, an 8 pin socket 150w of power, there's a website called pc part picker that lets you have an estimate of load your system will take ( http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ )
Just curious, but if you wanted to play games, why not make a computer yourself, or, if buying off the shelf, why not one with a standard mid or full ATX tower case? If it wasn't your choice, furry muff. If it was, well, lesson learned.

If u want a good video card, be prepared to spend at least $200 for a decent card.
If u want a really good card, spend about $300-$400 for top end. Price is directly correlated to performance/power.
Also make sure you have a good power supply that can power the card.
ATI and Nvidia both have decent cards for sale, its really up to you what brand u wish to have. The differences are pretty small.

1. Upgrading a video card on a prebuilt big box PC is usually a waste of time, for numerous reasons. - Compatibility issues. - Fitment issues - Motherboard/CPU combo too weak for a better GPU and will bottleneck it - PSU is almost NEVER sufficient enough to support an upgrade.
It's almost always a big giant headache. IF you can get it to work at all. You are usually better off building your own PC.
I worked in the GPU industry for years. Can't even begin to tell you how many people I'd talk to, that would buy a $200 prebuilt PC.. and think by getting a $600 graphics card and slapping it in there they would have some uber awesome gaming PC. If that's your goal... you're in for a bad time. But if you just want a moderate upgrade to whatever shitty onboard graphics that has, that should be doable.
2. The PSU on that thing is probably the bare minimum needed for that PC at stock specs and thus will probably NOT support a high end or even medium range GPU. Need information on the PSU. There should be a sticker on the side of it.. take a picture. 90% of the time if you want a better graphics card you will have to upgrade the PSU at the same time.
3. It's a slimline case - so your options are even further limited. You HAVE to get a low profile video card, that's the only thing that would possibly fit. That makes number 2 a little easier though... since low profile cards are usually going to be the lower-powered, entry/mid level graphics cards.
Assuming the PSU is around 300watts with at least 18A on the +12v rail (doubtful).. then I'd probably go with a GT 720.. That's probably one of the best low profile cards you're going to find, that won't bottleneck on your system and has low power requirements.. you need to use a low profile bracket with it too.
