How to get a cheap lawyer?

Let's say I'm broke but have a winnable case with valid proof. I bet a lawyer would jump on board knowing the odds of a win. Do I start calling any lawyers and present my case?

Lots give free consultations go interview a few and see what you can work out with them, they are greedy fucks so if it's a guaranteed payday they will bend over backwards for you and charge 35-40% of your settlement cash...

Last I checked "standard" was 33% for the lawyers when it comes to settlements?

Are you a lawyer now? Lol.
Also my old employer made all employees sign a contract stating no suing of the company. Strange. This is totally legal. This is a separate issue though.

You may be right, i haven't sued anyone before...either way you should be able to get a free consultation and they will decide if its worth it to take your case

I should just give an example. Let's say I get accused of a crime let's say murder. Let's say I had nothing to do with it but their (detectives cops etc.) mistakes and bloopers got me into the problem.
What type of lawyer should I consult with? A criminal lawyer I'd assume?

Yes a criminal lawyer. Murder will run you $2500-10k to start with.

it makes sense to have a criminal lawyer if its a crime, or a real estate lawyer for real estate, and entertainment lawyer if you're a band, etc. if its work issue like you indicated you will be able to get a free consult from a lawyer that handles that. if its a crime you have to pay for a good defense lawyer or take your chances with a public pretender

I can provide legal consultation for the entertainment aspect as well. If you want to be entertained. My legal retainer though is 35k, to start with. Fee goes up based on perks in the sense of representation. The platinum package is going to be 236k though. You get a real fucking deal with that one. I'll represent you in anything, and I mean anything

A defense or criminal lawyer? OK. Say I get accused yet it wasn't even me and can be proven? What kind of lawsuit would this be and who determines how much one can sue somebody.

if you are falsely accused, and have proof pay a defense lawyer a retainer after consulting with him to discuss case specifics. then cooperate with law enforcement but never without your lawyer present, if what you say is true it should not even get to trial...a lawyer can charge as little as 500 on a retainer like that to meet with police, and you don't answer anything the lawyer says not to...this way you never incriminate yourself, and are still behaving as someone who is innocent should behave.

Good advice. Let's say I'm an anonymous tipster that was indirectly revealed to the possible suspect by detectives? Let's say suspect and I know each other and detectives revealed to him about a tipster with a heavy foreign accent submitted the tip and possible suspect only know of few people with such accent, wouldn't this mean the detectives just indirectly revealed who the tipster might be?
