I just want to add the only thing I said to the police when they arrested me on location was "do you have a search warrant?"  "am I under arrest?"  "may I speak with my lawyer?"

I am not some stupid ignorant american that readily gives up his rights due to scare tactics from big brother.

Dude,  I may have been too harsh with you, but probably was being just right.

You need to go around town, and get free consultations from high priced lawyers so that you can get educated on your situation.  Then go with a public defender, until a deal is offered to you to prevent the long trial process.  At this point, you can accept the deal (maybe probation, Or Na meetings for a while, or maybe some time?) 

Or, if you do not like the deal, you can either go to trial, and hope a better deal comes to you, or you can pay $5000.00 down payment for a real lawyer to represent you, and your deal will improve overnight, if not the entire case dropped.

Years ago when I was in the courtroom sitting next to my public defender waiting to be heard,  they called chris dardens name......not there  (late)

After an hour of being late, Christopher darden (OJ prosecutor, now doing defense work) comes in, and his case immediately went to the front.  Mr. Darden was unshaved, and obviously been drinking, as he could barely speak clearly (this was years after oj case)  But he stood up and said a few words on behalf of his client, and then asked for the case to be dismissed on some grounds, and 20 seconds later, his client was uncuffed and free.

If you have the cash, you can pay your way out of this situation, if you are broke, take a smack on the ass and suck it up.  But never snitch or allow your public defender to share info on you with the D.A. because they are all friends you know.  The public defenders kiss the District attorneys asses, because some day soon they hope to be working for them as they move up through the ranks.

Be very careful of what you admit to your public defender too, as he/she will not likely be the public defender representing you when the trial begins if it comes to that.  Public defenders pass off their clients like musical chairs.  You can tell them how to do their job however if you go out and get 5-6 consultations from your towns top lawers.  All consultations should be free.  Good luck you little bitch.

this fucking sucks.  They are going to try to lock me up for 15 years.
I dont know if I should run to another country, kill myself or just face the charges.  I really don't want to get out of prison at age 40.  At that point I would probably just kill myself anyhow.

Don't do any of the above things.

They like to throw around large numbers like 15 years, but if that is the biggest number they can come up with then you are not really all that screwed at all.

They will not put you in jail until you are 40, don't worry about that.

They say 15 years so you will break down and admit to everything or narc on people.  Don't do either of those things.

Worst case scenario you will need to plea bargain and see what kind of deal they offer you.  Since you didn't make any statements to the cops you will get a better deal then someone who admitted to anything. 

With good time, technicalities, plea bargains, etc I would be really surprised if you even get two years.

More likely it will be something like 6 months + 3 years probation, if you even get convicted at all.

Do not even think about killing yourself.  Jail is annoying but remember that they can take your body but not your mind.  Its not nearly as bad as people say it is.  Jail is not as much fun as being free but its still life worth living.  You can paint and write books and shit in there. 

When this is all over consider joining some drug reform groups and becoming a drug reform activist so other people who did the same thing as you won't have to go through this kind of bullshit.

What kind of fucked up nation do we live in man?  I'm getting my passport..soon..Almost anywhere would be better then here dude.  They will nail you to a fucking cross for WEED?!?!  Read around, people do more time for serious drug offenses then fucking murder and rape!  Drugs are second only to tax evasion..If not the Netherlands then maybe somewhere that doesn't fucking crucify you for a god damn dime bag. ..but I'm very seriously thinking of taking my savings and finding a new home.  This place is never going to change

just look at strike. he wrote books and figured out his business while in prison. keep your mouth shut and get a good lawyer. the better the lawyer, the better the plea bargain youll get.

my advice? take out all the money in your bank account and run :smile: but fuck mexico, go live in the Caribbean. your life will be fucked forever anyways with felony charges.
