How do I get out of it?

i know that if you are selected in the "box" just say things that would make the lawyers not pick you. The lawyers are the ones that throw you out, so if they think they cant win with you on the jury, your out.

tell them you are perfect for the jury because you can tell if somebody is guilty just by looking at them. my friend told me this worked for his uncle!

Yeah, all I have at this point is the summons. It has a disability field, though...I was thinking about writing paranoid schizophrenia in crayon. Might being a student get me out (doubtful)? Thanks

very true, you can also say you have had a bad experience with law enforcement, and that causes you to be biased toward law enforcement.

Last year I got called to jury duty. Luckily the case was a drug case. During the questioning I said that I believed that the drug laws in the US were a direct violation of our constitutional rights. I said I would never find somebody guilty of drug possesion even they had proved it beyond a reasonible doubt. Needless to say the prosecuter booted me.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. It would be nice to skate under it on my beliefs like that.

you tell them that the person looks guilty because of their skin color. very easy way to get out if the person is of racial minority. and you dont get punished for not being picked.
-------------------- "A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." -Al Einstein

Another way to get out of jury duty is if you are the sole support of your family and you run your own business, or if you have children for whom you have to stay home and care for.

Yeah, I got out of jury duty for saying that I believed drugs should be legalized. I was paid $30 for that, plus my work paid me for that time.

Wear a t-shirt proclaiming your fandom of any hippie/rock/metal/punk type of musical act. Don't shave, shower, or comb your hair that morning. And just for good measure, take a few bongers before you head out, to give your eyes a freshly-glazed look when you show up for the interview.
