my macbook pro broke

can't afford a new one right now

looking for  a new laptop

not looking for anything special

just something to use until i have the money for a new mac

any suggestions?

i had a macbook pro 15 in retina display...

was drunk left it in the rain...

insurance won't cover water damage

not trying to spend a lot of $ as i'm saving for another macbook pro 15 inch

most i'd spend is probably $500 also not looking for a used one

You can always test them out. I've bought many computers from craigslist with no problems to speak of. People sell their laptops because they upgrade all the time.

Likewise, check out pawn stores. They'll usually give you a 7 day money back guarantee if it's shot after buying one. Can usually get a laptop for 100 - 200 as well.

I get the hesitation, but it's mostly unfounded.

I've gotten a couple of refurbished macs for about 300 a piece from this guy on ebay. He doesn't seem to be as selling as much now as he was then, but he's a solid dude. He also offers 2 year warranties for a little extra. I personally wouldn't drop money on a new mac, I'd rather drop that kind of money on a nice pc and just get refurbished apple products, they're honestly as good as new to me.

I watched this video on youtube titled "how to get a computer for free"

the guy says you can go to a microsoft store and tell the staff that you're a mac user and you are considering switching to PC, he says they will give you a form to fill out and then give you a free $200-$300 laptop

i might try that if its legit

in england we have a ton of little computers shops that sell them super,super cheap and you could debug it all yourself..thats if its necessary of course
