I just bought a 'cheap' laptop for $278 dollars.

My fucking piece of shit Toshiba with an i3 processor, which has been having shit fall apart and break on it for the last year, finally gave up its ghost.  So I went to find a cheap sub since school is on me and i refuse to spend a fortune on another laptop.

So I bought a Compag, with a 'cheap' intel celeron processor and Windows 7. 

Fucking shit.  This thing is really fast, and has no cons that I can really speak to.  Once I got it set up, this is a bad little computer, I see no need to pay hundreds of dollars more.

I did this same thing last December but I bought a Toshiba for 250 on sale. Also a celeron
windows 7 with decent specs. The computer I bought before this one I paid almost a grand
and is just as good as this $250 laptop.

Just goes to show you that paying more doesn't always get you more.

I'm sure that the difference is 1) The processors, which are just ridiculous fast compared to a few years ago and 2) Windows 7, which does a really good job of memory management.  I only have 2 gigs of RAM, but its not an issue.  I am going to steal the four GB out of the junk toshiba and install it though.

Yeah I mean I do notice a difference with faster or "better" processors when like Im trying
to open files or programs its just a tick slower but for the price it cant really be beat.
And this bad dad is made to never ever run hot and only gets warm when charging. I love that
as my last one would practically set your crotch on fire.

actually, the reason the processors run so cool is that the run on very low voltage, and the materials they use have very little resistive loss.  I can say this because what im doing my master's thesis on is VLSI design (microciruit physics and design)
