An apology would most definitely be appropriate.

The war was going to be won by the Allies. Hitler had already fallen, the Japs were alone against the world. The nukes were tests. Nothing more. Curiosity is the reason of the nukes, not war. The war was an excuse.

Did I hear that the Japanese submitted their unconditional surrender before they got nuked twice? The U.S. just wanted to make an example of them? Fucking terrible, but of course the US will never apologize for its terrorism.
