"What are you choosing to let kill you?"

My coffee+cigarette+internet addiction, most like.

Sucks, but I have no one to blame but myself. Keep saying 'itll change when' or 'Ill get off my ass as soon as' or 'All I need is [insert drug] to motivate me'.

OP reminded me of the Tiger Lillies songs 'My Last Breath' and 'Death'.
Check em out if you're so inclined. They're pretty good songs, imho...

The slow disintegration of cellular and atomic bonds through the process of entropy. My on-again, off-again relationship with slamming beer at a rapid rate in high volumes. Occasional downers. Occasional uppers. Not getting enough exercise. Congestive Heart Failure that has my heart's function down to a very low 25 percent. Apart from that, I'm sound as an Irish pound.

In the psychedelic movement now there seems to be an emphasis on an ascetic form of taking psychedelics which promotes healing the past, and 'heroic doses'. I was watching a video of this young guy saying how he had taken a massive does of shrooms, and refused to listen to music because it was a 'distraction' to healing!
So it seems fun whilst tripping is seen as 'recreational' and 'escape' and all that is a big no no to the therapeutic mindset.

Ironically I find it was the trips where I had the most fun, the most recreation where I got the most therapy done. If you've spent your whole life in Hell, your normal standard of living and what you accept into your life is hell, so the best way is to introduce yourself to the highest heights of heaven, a calibration of your mind to the true nature of Reality.

Anyway to answer your very special question OP, I realised I was moving too fast through life, there was another thread where they were talking about the space before an action where there is a thought then a space then an action. In my haste to get "there" as fast as possible I had been jerking my body around callously and carelessly jumping from movement and action to movement and action, with no regard for the consequences. Something is born in each moment and something is dead in each moment. In each moment, God offers us the gift of the birth, the in breath. We return God our gift, in the form of the death, the out breath. So imagine I had abused all of my out breaths just trying to get to the finish line as fast as possible, I had not been sincere in returning God the love that was due. So I am starting to heal from that and to give each moment the due engagement and care necessary, to feel the Love in the whole process and to return to God the gift of Love and Gratitude that was give to me, multiplied to God, that God can multiply and return to me, in a cycle of ongoing goodness.

I'm pretty sure the overwhelming majority of people are doing this too, because if you gave each out-breath the due reverence it deserved you would not make a single mistake in your life or if you did, it would happen sparingly, you would have few problems and issues and much success of all kinds ceaselessly because you would be moving through the fully embodied Soul and acting as an infinite being. All the other worldly vices fall away when you give the hold-breath and the out breath the due reverence they deserve, when you amplify the Love, for that is what we are, Love-amplifiers, that is our true purpose and function.

I am glad someone responded to this, because I have not really found any good articles etc about this. Had begun to asnwer about it here, but it deserves thread of its own, so I will use my and your reponse for the thread, and hope you come there if you feel any more to add. Would really like to know more detail about your recreation trips?

recreational and therapeutic tripping

not going to add a versus because I see benefit of both, but dont like it when one form  dismisses the other types

Thanks everyone for your beautiful, elaborate responses, it's my first post in this particular forum & hey I'm impressed by your school of thoughts! The OP was just a way to make us super conscious about how we are choosing to live our lives. I believe all of us have the choice to alter the course of our lives, even when external conditions hinder us & conforming seems inevitable. I think our beliefs hinder us more than external conditions do.

"Most people do not see their beliefs. Instead, their beliefs tell them what to see. This is the simple difference between clarity and confusion." - Matt Kahn

So in the light of the OP, I encourage everyone to really step back & find deeper meaning to life & live your life in such a way that death will tremble to take you

And zzripz, IME I can't quite make the distinction between recreational & therapeutic tripping as every time I drop I see divine shit. I think the distinction comes after the trip when you decide what to do with what you saw. I mean you can see god & tell yourself it was just the drug, or you can use the experience to heal your self on many levels..

yeah your welcome to the thread I mention. I am not wanting to derail this one

There are documetaries here--UK-- titled 'the last hours of []' fill in a dead celebrity. they ve dont Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Heath Ledger, Elvis Presely, Whitney Houston etc etc, and nearly  all of them are on BOTH prescription drugs and illegal drugs. And it is a wonder they dont dig the toxic sht they are putting into their bodies. it is kind of sickening.
