    #2275696 - 01/26/04 07:27 PM (20 years, 2 months ago)

a foaf followed the pftek on mycotopia and it said 12 cups verm, 6 cups brf, 6 cups water for 24 1/2 pt. jars, problem is there is at least half the made amount of substrate left over when done filling the jars?? is he doing something wrong here?

There shouldn't be half but there will be some due to the dry verm layer. Next time only make about 90% with same ratios, that way you wont waste very much.

I've found many TEKs that don't come up with a perfect amount of substate for a certain amount of jars. I just try to have more jars than I plan on filling so that if there is extra, I can just start using the extras.
