placing pced substrate in the freezer

My foaf wanted to ask the following:

Is it ok to take some freshly pc'ed grain, such as popcorn, and place into the freezer to cool it down quickly before innoculation?

It?s inoculation with 1 N.

It?s ok if you can live with the (major) risk that the jars can
1. break due to a cold shock
2. contaminate because you are exposing them to the unhealthy climate of a fridge.

As the jars cool,they kind of suck in air. If you wanted to do that,I would suggest that you put them in a plastic baggie first. You would'nt want to suck up too much refrigerator air ! At least not from my refrigerator. Might be worth mentioning that even when the outside feels cool,it's still pretty hot inside.My pet praire dog moves them straight to the glove box,with the fan on.That seems to help cool them a little quicker.
