Sicario 2015 (Cartel Movie)
    #22686152 -

I have always been fscinated and horrified by Cartels. Its no accident that Cartel violence recieves very little coverage in Western Mainstream media, despire being FAR closer to America then the Islamic Jihadism the media is so fascinated with.

These people are every bit as violent and arguably far more ammoral and sociopathic then even Islamists. At least Islamists have some kind of religion (which paradoxically also makes them MORE dangeorous) but the Cartels seem to value nothing besides money, power and perhaps evil itself as values.

In any case the Cartels are something we all need to be a lot more aware of and frankly concerned about. They are already creeping across the border into places like Arizona, and have their influence and tentacles everywhere including Silicon Valley and New York.

These are global transnational organizations run by complete sociopaths employing armies of murderous killers, rapists and torturers,  with operating budgets that rival nations and influence that is quickly spreading across the globe and with huge swathes of police and politicians corrupted into their service.

Along with International Banking Cartels, Transnational Corporations, The military-police-industrial-prison complex and Political Cabals, the Drug Cartels are major fucking players in the modern world.

This move not only is highly educational and informative in this regard, but its also a stellar fucking movie.

I would give it a 10/10 so far and call it "Riveting as Fuck".

Why don't my shroomery people smoke a spliff, perhaps snort some Cartel Cocaine (not that I am but your choice) and watch Sicario with me, free?

But how can we expose the vileness of the cartels and continue to profit from the violence without pointing to the clear solution of decriminalization ?!!

That is indeed the only solution I see working for the Cartel Problem. Part of the problem is the cartels are so powerful and influential that they will oppose decriminalization. It does seem to finally be happening though, slowly.

Mexican drug cartels 'operating in the UK, France and Netherlands'
Mexico’s violent drug cartels have reached the streets of Britain, France and the Netherlands, according to US immigration officials

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/centralamericaandthecaribbean/mexico/9132625/Mexican-drug-cartels-operating-in-the-UK-France-and-Netherlands.html

"Three members of Britain's Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) met US agents on the Texas-Mexico border this week in a bid to put a stop to cartels taking hold on Britain and Europe.

"The most important lesson that we have shared with SOCA, is that if they are not prepared to deal with the Mexican cartels, they will spread like a cancer and will entrench themselves in the economy and community in an attempt to 'legitimise' their illicit profits.” Oscar Hagelsieb, an agent at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations office, said. “They must also be aware of the violence that will undoubtedly follow."

US authorities believe Mexico's Sinaloa cartel has drug distribution networks in England and has established footholds in France and the Netherlands, among other places in Europe, he said.

Mexican crime groups have previously made attempts to establish a presence in Europe, Mr Hagelsieb added, "but not to the scope we are seeing now. The Sinaloa is the first cartel that can have an impact worldwide."

Mexican Cartels Expanding Influence in Europe: Europol

The latest report from the European Police Office describes increasingly diverse and complex trafficking routes and criminal ties between the Americas and Europe, and raises the specter of the increasing influence of Mexican cartels.

According to Europol’s analysis of the European Union drugs market, Colombian criminal groups with a firmly established presence in Europe, continue to play a key role in cocaine trafficking in the region. However, the ever more fragmented nature of Colombian organized crime has created opportunities for groups from Europe and elsewhere in the Americas to develop new relationships. Increasingly, these partnerships involve European groups working with Mexican cartels

Mexican Cartel Presence Threatens European Security, Europol Says

The growing presence of Mexican cartels on European soil has become a cause of concern for the European Police Office (Europol). Los Zetas, the Sinaloa cartel and other Mexican organized crime groups have expanded their drug trafficking operations in Europe, and have reportedly opened new criminal business ventures in territories that used to be controlled by local mafias.

"[G]roups such as the powerful and violent criminal syndicate, Los Zetas, are reportedly involved in trafficking human beings for sexual exploitation from North East Europe to Mexico," Europol said in a statement released last Friday. "Mexican criminal groups are also trafficking firearms from South East Europe to barter with criminals involved in the cocaine trade in Central South America," the agency added. While the presence of Latin American crime groups into Europe may be growing, it is hardly a novel phenomenon. "The cartels are international, and that has been going on for several years," George W. Grayson, an associate scholar at the Foreign Policy Research Institute who has written various books about the Mexican cartels, told Univision News. "Europe seems to be an increasingly important destination for them."

European authorities, meanwhile, are already concerned about the current levels of criminal participation of the cartels, especially given the Mexican criminal groups' ruthless execution and takeover methods.

But where's the violence? The beheadings and drive by? These articles just say some cops say there's cartel doing business with European organized crime.

The first article even says, "Wainwright’s fears of Mexican-style drug violence arriving in Europe seem somewhat overstated. The report suggests Mexican cartels may be increasing their presence but remain minority players. It should also be noted that the criminal dynamic in Europe is very different to the Americas, as shown by the fact that the presence of Colombian cartels has never caused Colombian levels of violence in Europe.
In fact, the trends highlighted by the report suggest a move away from involvement of monolithic groups dominating regions and toward fluid networks where European groups are playing an increasingly significant role. This trend could bring its own problems for European law enforcement, as the diversification and expansion of these trafficking networks could make the job of agencies like Europol substantially more difficult."

The Mexican cartels are a Mexican problem even if they are an international industry.

Thats just an absurd point of view. The cartels are by nature transnational organizations. they spread their business constantly overseas, the violence follows after to the extent to which they have established themselves. What those articles say is that the Cartel is beginning to spread to Europe, and as they do so , violence will inevitably follow.

Its a matter of time . Cartel violence has destroyed mexico. Now it has spread heavily into southern United States, and its starting to establish itself farther afield such as in Europe.

We have already seen that where the Cartel spreads into America, violence follows. The same will hold true of anywhere else they establish themselves, due to the way they do business, its impossible and illogical to imagine the cartel can operate extensively anywhere without violence following.

Here is a good documentary on what Cartel operations spreading into a nation looks like. Watch it, because it very concretely and directly puts the lie to what you are implying. Where cartel business goes, violence follows. If you don't grasp this, you are painfully naive and need to educate yourself on Cartels.

And here is an amazing documentary on the Cartel in Mexico

Sweet, thanks moonshoe, I too enjoy watching/reading things about the Cartels.

It's crazy because the people in Mexico view the Cartels as Robin Hoods, where they take from the rich and give to the poor.  You also said you don't think they have a religion like Islamic terrorists do, well they have Catholicism, and their own saint called Santa Muerte they pray to..  I also think I read someplace the Sinaloa cartel declared war on ISIS, anybody else hear that.

But, if you want the good info on the Cartels, I suggest reading some of the blogs out there which are from the region the cartels operate in, much more informative information but you might have to translate what you read.  Also their media coverage of such things, is usually uncensored, or not censored as much as ours is, so be warned some of it can be a bit gory.

Anyway, thanks mang.  I will for sure check this out when I get a chance.
