The movie "Kids"

This movie is pretty funny.

I like the part of the guy in the subway without any legs on a skateboard rolling down the aisle saying "I have no legs, I have no legs" with a cup in his hand asking for change. Priceless.

That's my favorite part from when the kid, caspar steals a 40 oz from the liquer store.

They have Teddy go up to the foriegn cahier and say, "Yo man you got Dis Dig?"

And the guy looks at him, "What are you talking about?"

"Common, Dig dig, you gotta know what dis dig is," Teddy says harrassing the cashier like a punk city kid would, "Everybody's got dis dig!"

"We don't have what you are talkiong about" says the cashier.

The distraction works and Teddy says in closing once Caspar is done stealing the bottle and slipping it down his pants, "THIS DICK, MOTHER FUCKER!"

And they walk out the store.

I've heard Kids compared to Gummo, and Gummo was a huge piece of shit. Same director or such?

I hope it's better, Gummo looked eccentrically weird from the trailers but really it was just a useless waste of time

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that.. but the movie definitely has a strong depressive edge to it. An interesting viewing experience, but one that leaves you heavy hearted (and maybe even a little sick) at the end of it all. One might consider Requiem for a Dream another movie exhibiting this type of dreary theme, but in my opinion Requiem was done with a bit more taste and seemed to carry a stronger message throughout (what message that is, is for everyone to draw for themselves :grin:
