Have you seen Altered States? I believe they mention Amanita Muscaria's in there along with another un-named mushroom. The guy also drinks something like ayahuasca. Pretty good movie actually.......it's all about a guy tripping in an isolation tank.

wow, i gotta see this:

Plot Summary for
I Was Possessed by God (2000)

On Valentine's Day, 1993, Caveh Zahedi decided to ingest 5 grams (a very large dose) of hallucinogenic mushrooms. For the first time in his mushroom-taking history, he had an experience of "divine possession," in which he felt that a divine being took possession of his body and spoke through him, in a voice that was not his, and with knowledge that he himself did not possess. He later tried several times to repeat the experience. I WAS POSSESSED BY GOD is the documentary record of one such attempt.

Don't forget Natural Born Killers. They eat shrooms on the run from some cops, then go into a teepee and kill an indian :frown:

That I Was Possessed by God movie sounds great.
I remember that movie with Leslie growing mushrooms "Men With Brooms" it was a curling movie. I hardly remember that movie, the only memorable part was Leslie and his shrooms, he even eats some at the end! :rotflmao:

Here are the Malaysian "ibotenic acid containing" medicinal shrooms from Excelsis Dei:

There are references to mushrooms and hallucinogenic compounds of fungal origins in some more episodes of The X-Files. Here are some that first came to my mind.

El Mundo Gira (episode 11 of the 4th season)

A mexican guy was secreting an enzyme which accelerated the growth of microscopic fungi so rapidly that they actually killed the people he touched.

Never Again (episode 13 of the 4th season)

The dye that the tattoo artist was using for making the lips of a tattoo was extracted from an ergot contaminated grass. So the guy who got the tattoo experienced audial hallucinations that led to violent behaviour (he almost killed Scully in this episode ).

Field Trip (episode 21 of the 6th season)

woot! Hallucinogenic spores  The fungus extends for at least ten acres underground and the spores contain a chemical similar to LSD. Mulder and Scully hallucinate a lot in this episode :smirk:

So here's a couple, but there's probably more I've missed out.

This is quite screwed up for a 1968 film

5 de chocolate y 1 de fresa (1968)
old nuns. After eating some "special" mushrooms, innocent Esperanza becomes modern and psychodelic Brenda: a subversive girl who raids a high-society party, sings subversive songs and charms young fellows. Brenda and five boys leave the party, assault an ice-cream parlor (they ask for "five of chocolate and one of strawberry") and finally kidnap a banker. In between, a Commissioner from the Surveillance International Agency follows Brendas tracks, while the girl changes personalities because of the mushroom eating

WTF????????
