nice what size cakes did you do 1/2 pints? and how many did you have?
yea i had a bowl over them with another bowl on top to weight them down they where for sure submerged under the water just had it like that for the pic

LOL thanks man that means alot i have experience growing herb so i got the patients part down lol i have learned trying to cut corners leads to failure with any thing that you are growing ....  glad to be a part of this site ..well iam just trying to follow the tek right happy if i did help any other noobs out there i can say i want stop trying this till i have fruits iam thinking about ordering some sterile grain jars and spawn to a few trays next before i try to make my own what do you think?

I just came up with this becuz of you.


Experience is knowing how to cut corners and not fuck shit up. For example
Friends house and nothing to make a sgfc from Boom Food first then SGFC later. Worked like ok perlite dried in like 3 days but I ended up just sticking a toothpick trough the whole thing and dunking it 2 or 3 times per day instead of misting, Skewer held cake from floating. Also I had special long thin drill. But it grew mushrooms for about .25c including food for you.

so how about those cotton knot looking things is that the start of knotting or just more mycelium growth some of them look like they got tiny lil black dot on the knot looking stuff

Do theses cakes look ok? They grew alot over last night but looks kinda funny to me besides the ariel mycelium(iam guessing thats what it is but iam not sure) look at top left of both pics and around top edges of cake looks like little cluster of off whitish balls what is that??? iam i misting to much any advice:confused:

1. Host your pictures with Shroomery so they're not so gigantic.

2. Raise your SGFC higher up than the inch or so your little platform provides. I used beer cans for mine.

how do i host to shroomery??
My SGFC is already sitting on blank dvd containers that are 4 to 5 inchs high plus the inch that the wire platform gives them i raised it up 2 days ago...
Do you know what the cluster of ball looking things in picture are? also i have a window in this bathroom but got it covered so it doesnt effect 12/12 light cycle should i open it up to let some fresh air in a couple times a day or just leave it shut?

In the text field, click the small picture 3rd from the right and hit upload. Sorry, couldn't see that from your pics since they're so huge and tough to look. I believe 6" was said to be optimal, but I'm sure 4-5" is fine.

ok thanks man.... yea ill load next pics smaller sorry about that . yea i figured it needed to be a little higher iam almost done making my 66QT sgfc i have 5 or 6 1/2 pints and a couple small 1/4 pints in consolidation now ...

i updated the size of the last pics so can see them better...
i cut my foil smaller that cakes are sitting on and also finished my big 66QT sgfc i will post pic of it when i get perlite washed... iam thinking i may have been misting to much so iam only doing it once in morning and once at night cause the temps here are low right now..Had to touch a couple to cut the tinfoil and they bruised a tiny bit in a matter of minutes think they will be fine dont have any reason to move them now just thought the foil was to big.

I Plan on birthing theses 3 GT,3 B+ and 2 more Pes Hawaiian  Friday or Saturday into the new bigger SGFC this is day 4 of consolidation....
They are from the 1st batch i inoculated on 11/15/15 still have 4 more that are almost 100% but one might have a contamination i posted it in other thread if anyone wants to check it out and let me know what it might be..I also dug out my old DSLR camera so pics will be better from here on out :grin:

They're looking great. All look to be around 100% and should be ready to birth after the consolidation period. Unless there's uncolonized spots you aren't showing us.
