No, but I used to work as a writer for a human rights group. I did that for only 2 years, because let's face it, non-profit work hardly pays jack.

I do have a bachelor's degree in political theory & political philosophy, which is where I wrote most of my stuff.

It's a shame writing doesn't pay unless you're in the big leagues. Being a writer would be my dream job.

Thanks. I thought about going back and getting a master's in journalism or something, just so that could get me in the door interning at a news station or something. But getting a master's in journalism sounds like a pretty big gamble… there's a small chance it could end up well, or you could end up unemployed with $40K debt...

True enough. I want to write a book sometime. I do writing for my work and I would like to take it to the next level. Unfortunately, it is a gamble on whether it will pay off or not.

Journalism is a dieing industry and one of the few things less respected than Congress.  And you certainly don't need a degree in it to practice it

I have spoken to her often enough to believe most if not all of her tales here are credible.  I am not easily gulled.  I think her whack tales are legit.
