OH NO!!!, contams in one of my WBS jars, but I have an idea

Well one of my WBS quart sized jars gor some green mold at the top , so I opened the jar outside and scooped out the gross stuff, which was only right at the top, then I took another spoon and scooped out another inch to make sure that there was no yucky shit left and sealed up the jar.
Next I plan on making a casing with it and keeping in its own container in case there are problems. sound good??
I also thought about eating it, cause the mycelium is real white and healthly, it just got contams at the top and after scooping them out the jar looks perfect.
Oh an my "not so pro" opinion on hole size for jars is now this, I wold rahter have a larger hole (I used pencil sized hole this time) they a small hole on the top of my WBS jars , because even though some people warn me about the substrate drying out...........with these small hole jars alot of the stuff in the middle just fell out, as wet seed, no myvelium, which in my "not so pro" opinion could have been a huge factor in why I got the mold in the first place.
I have seen people grow a full quart jar of mycelium in 8 days!! , and mine took much longer so next time I am going with a large hole.

"I would just take the jar and do an extraction, save the substrate for a good jar."
I think yo mean save the CASING bt yes............
well I could make mushroom tea(or mycelium tea I guess)
spores cant hurt me, so maybe thats what I will do , but it still is sad that its not going to be cased.

Psilocybeingzz, the grain is doomed for indoor use.
Now if it were spawned to manure in an outside tub in weather warm enough to allow it to incubate/colonise the manure, then you can use it.
This is it just several days into game play (no case layer on it).
Now approx. three weeks later...
It has "mended" to the manure in the 40lt tub and evident with scraping back the top case layer. The manure was not pasteurised, simply reliant on the checks & balances of nature. This easy method I got from bluemeanie.

Awsome as always starter!
B ut I have made tea and put it in the fridge for tomorrow , I would keep it for christmas eve but I think it will lose some potency.
It smelled like a good mushroom tea right after I put it in the hot water, and even after the lemmon it hade that classic mushroomy tea smell, bt the longer I cooked it it began to smell more like birdseed so I filtered it and stored it.

The "Aussie Contingent" (Starter, hanky, and bluemeanie) dispense some very solid advice.
-------------------- In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree... "The eternal silence of these infinite spaces frightens me." OCD had rendered me completely insane and not believable.
