Well bill, if yo wanna adopt and actually make a difference. Don't adopt a baby, or even a toddler. Adopt anywhere from the ages 5-15. Almost no one who adopts wants a kid. They all want a baby. Babies move through the adoption process very fast. Kids from 5-15 are all most never adopted.

But just please don't pass on that opinion to your children. I've come to accept people will always exist that are super ignorant. But at least let your children make a different choice based on the world we live in.

I just want to take this time to say i really have no problems with gay people at all. I judge them only on how they treat me amd others. Not their sexual preferences.

I am truly sorry for the derogatory remarks i made. They were out of defense on the things said to me. Im not blaming anyone else but its true that if i was never flamed then i wouldnt have said anything negative about gays.

If there were more gay couples and gay people in the world  then i would probably change my mind about them adopting. I just dont want children to be singled out and confused. Theres too many "normal" parents and people out there for gay people to be treated as such...sadly. its just how the world is..people suck. And for that..we cant have nice things..such as gays being able to adopt.

I love you guys and appreciate 95% of you and i hppe you dont judge me negatively on just 1 opinion. I am not homophobic and never was.

you shouldn't have to sorry for your opinion on a topic and you shouldn't have to be harrassed because of the opinion.  If you don't like gays there's nothing wrong with not liking them, thats a choice you get to make.  Discrimination is treating groups of people different, nobody here did that, we discussed our opinions on laws and what they should be and who we thought was fit for parents. 

The only people that were discriminated in this thread, were the ones who didn't agree with what was "PC", you got treated different because of your opinion, you got treated unfairly, you were attacked.  Threads are about topics and debates, but some people around here go thread to thread not looking for debates, only looking to attack people personally.  thats what needs to stop because its sick.

Me i like to debate what isn't 'PC', i like to debate things with an open mind, usually from the other side that people think.  For starters it lets there be a debate in the first place, second debates are fun when they are actual debates and not person attacks, and thirdly i like to see if i can convince myself of the other side which usually i do and to see if anyone can convince me im wrong.  Usually they are just too lazy to try and use personal attacks, its the weak mans way out because they can't keep up.  Not to say they couldn't win the debate, they have the easy side FFS the PC side, they just don't try, they don't go point by point

It's not about being Politically correct, It's about the equality of every human being, and to stop the chastising and the outcasting that is performed.

I could give a shit if someone is saying slurs or something offensive, but it's different when you are deeming a whole group of people as somehow inferior to you. Not treating someone like shit based on assumptions because of skin color or sexual preference. That's when people should always step in.

But bill, thanks for the apology. I was in high school not to long ago, and honestly the gay acceptance rate went up by a lot. There were plenty of people who were openly gay. And no one bullied them. Honestly when someone tried they had multiple people tell them to shut the fuck up :lol:

It's honestly pretty acceptable amongst teenagers from what I've seen and experienced. It's just like, whatever you're gay so what.

If its acceptable and the kid truly grows up on his terms and not heavily influenced to be gay and the parents are good people and everyone is hsppy then OF COURSE  im down for it.

I just dont think it's that simple and i fear it will open up a door that the children didn't want to go through.

Thats all.

I compare it to drugs..of course we all want them legal but how will it affect the children? People suck and abuse power and usually end up ruining any slack we get from the government. I just feel that everything isnt as simple as people make it out to be.

From about the age of 3-6, Me and my mom were pretty much homeless. We'd just drive and sleep in our car half the time. Other half the time we'd stay at relatives or her friends houses for a night or 2. She then thought it'd be good for me to stay at her dad's house while she got her life on track.

I ended up being abused for 2 years. My dad and my mom(divorced) Had to go to court to get me out of there. I was around 8 years old when I finally ended up living with my dad, and had an overall happy child hood.

My point is, a lot worse things happen to kids then having gay parents. Now of course it's just as possible it could happen with a gay parent, but it's probably a lower chance considering gay people have to adopt. They're just more likely to be prepared.

its not deeming the whole group inferior, its a preventitive thing.  Its like a massive drug addict, your going to think he might steal from you for drug money, your going to wonder if he has a disease from shooting up all the time, you wonder these things nomatter who you are, what you do might be different.

Im sure everyone would say drug addicts make shitty parents, thats treating an entire group of people inferior.....yet there's no real backing up of proof for that either, some steal, some don't, some catch diseases, some dont.  Its about prevention, its about what most consider a basic life, its about whats fair to a child, because the child doesn't get a choice society has to make it for them.  Its just like abortion, the child doesn't get a choice, so some people convince themselves the child doesn't even exist, while others say its the womens body, no its the womens body that has a childs body inside it, she in most cases made the choice to have a kid just like everyone else involved, but then thinks she gets a free out of jail card because she's a women.  Meanwhile men get zero decision in killed the babys 'body'.

Its the ideology im comparing here, a child is adopted by gays, the child doesn't get a choice, his life is entirely in his parents hands in terms of how he turns out.  And there is no doubt in my mind that a child will have an increased chance of turning out gay because of it, weither coached into it or not.

The only real debate around all that, is weither being gay is a bad thing, or 'inferior' as you might say.  To me, it sure isn't something to strive for, your going against the way your body was built to work, and remember the argument about tv ads and manipulations about what we find attractive when u read that, take that into account.  Can you become gay and love being gay, obviously.  But would you have been happier with a fuller life, and a fuller potential for life otherwise?

Thats why gays adopt children, because their life can never be full with the choices they made otherwise.  Which in my mind is a book closer on the topic if they were so happy being gay, they wouldn't have the need to adopt.  being gay means no offspring, you choose a life of infertility on purpose only to backtrack and want to adopt.

The equality of people based on things we know nothing about. Discrimination against a group of people because of something you "think" you know.

A person's skill or actions are what make someone a good or bad person. Not the color of their skin or who they find attractive.

I doubt religion causes more child rape, just because one priest molested a child doesn't mean every priest does. But I think it's fine to talk to kids about your own religion and teach them. Just be  okay for whatever they decide when they are older. If they wanna believe what their parents believe, then cool. If they wanna convert, then cool.
