I don't know, I know some kids who act like that and have both parents present.

It's not about spanking, specifically, it's about being assertive with kids, and not giving in to whining.

If a kid learns that he can be a piece of shit and there will be no consequences, then he'll keep doing it.

that's because it's another persons child, its much easier to see other people's problems than to look at your own... people deny reality, and things get way out of hand, as in with this kid... i bet all her friends know she's bieng abused, but she doesnt analyzie her own situation as much as she should...
