quick question

my buddy is on his way to chicago in 1hour. he wil be gone for 6 days.

on 11.26.3 "almost 3 weeks ago" knocked up 8 PF cakes of orissa india, at 82F-86F they are 95%-99% finished.
if he is gone till 12-21 can he keep them in the incubator till he is back,"they will be in incubator for about 4 weeks"or does he have to put them in the refridge. "option 2 is not an option"

or can anyone give me any other ideas of something better to do?

also he knocked up jars of PF cakes on 12-2 of blue meany without a responce so far, no contams, a little bit of cloudy stuff at the bottom ,that oes not look like myc, what could ths mean?

friend in need of help!

If he's going to be gone for 6 days, you can totally keep the india's in the incubator with no problem. It will probably better that they stay in there so that everything is nice and colonized :smile:

Yes, that could be the beginning of mycelium. Probably is.

Blue meanies: You mean Panaeolus cyanescens? If so, yes, they have very whispy almost greyish mycelium.

Yea keep them in, if anything it will help by building up the mycelium network to make for faster pinning times.

Can jars remain in the incubator after full colonization without risking damage? I'm talking like a whole week or 10 days.

A friend still has pf cakes knocked up early october that have been in the incubator and 100% colonized for well over a month. They should be fine until you provide them with the proper fruiting conditions....

I think your okay for that period of time...however I have seen jars go "ugly" after 2 months. Mainly grain jars that just get really yellow looking.
