A few lib caps

Stopped off at my local field after college and had a little nose around, managed to find 19 lib caps.. Which i think is enuff for a small brew?? Anyway whats the best way to keep these shrooms untill the weekend? Will they loose there potency if i dry them out?? If so by how much..


Im planning to re-visit this field on sat morning to go on a full scale hunt as mid-day can proove to be abit dodgy with cars passing and its 2 fields down from the farmhouse...

Yeah it should be enough for a small brew..If you put them in a little plastic container you can keep them fresh till the weekend and they will keep their maximum potency.
Libs have a high psilocybin content (and low psilocyn) so if you dry them they dont lose much of their potency.

I would suggest storing them in something breathable, not plastic, unless it has vents. Think about how you see edible mushrooms stored at the supermarket.

I got a container with button mushrooms from the supermarket..Shall i empty that into a bag and use the container? Should i cover the lid with clingfilm and stick some vent holes in? Where should i keep the container? ontop of a cupboard?

brew is fine, i suggest however that you prepair and serve it cold.

I've always kept my mushrooms in the refridgerator. I wouldn't cover it with cling wrap. The more air flow the better. They won't dry too quickly in the fridge. I'd be more concerned about them rotting from too much moisture if they can't breathe.

I might just munch them raw, i dont know, what ever will give the best effect! I can stand the taste of them, which many people cant..

Ill eat them raw then :smile: Can i keep them fresh by putting them in a ventalated tub? Or do i have to keep them in a fridge??

You can store in a paper bag on the door side of your icebox for 5-8 days and they will stay fresh Never putfresh shrooms in plastic bags or containers. They rot. Form the humidity.

I would spread them out on something like glossy paper, or something they won't stick to, and set them on top of a cupboard, or dresser. They will probably dry a fair amount, but that's better than rotting. I don't think it will affect potency too much.

Also, make sure you have a positive ID. There are many little brown mushrooms that look very similar. I'd hate to hear of an accident.

then spread them out on somet6hing flat and allow to dry as as low a temp as you can [like near a window, for fresh air and cooling].

Hahaha im glad i went back now, i got another 30 in 10 minutes then it was getting too dark...That will be enuff for this weekend me thinks!


Iv got 45 now, shall i dry them or stick with keeping them fresh

P.s they are defenatly lib caps... Iv been picking enuff times to ID them correctly..

But i dont know about storage because the times iv been picking them i have eaten them on the same day
