Can't shutdown XP properly..."devdlr"

Recently I have been having this problem....every time I attempt to shutdown my computer I get what looks like an error message and mentions something about "DEVDLR" and the computer won't shutdown so I am forced to just shut it off manually everytime which can't be good...has anyone else had a similar problem or any solutions to offer? Thanks.
