I was never unwilling to admit anything I was actually doing, trying to put words in my mouth again I see.

I don't care about a few things that Catholics supposedly say they don't have a problem with, I never said I did, again with the putting words in my mouth. You can say it's "malarkey" all you want, doesn't make it true, I've even heard priests talk of this before, if you don't accept the bible as a whole you are not a true Catholic.

Are you saying your word is higher than that of a Catholic priest?

Not to mention I have seen you say you have to accept all of what the bible has to say when it suits your argument, but now that it doesn't you're trying to go back on your word, pretty damn typical.

I have read some of the bible before, not the whole thing, I couldn't get through all of the bullshit. That's actually a large part of what made me start questioning my faith and was also quite a large part of what led me to eventually denounce it.

Not that it matters, but I don't think I've ever watched a Bill Maher skit, but Google is a useful tool for just about everything.

Google is something the bigoted, evil, insane, control freaks that wrote the bible didn't count on when they were writing that fictional pile of trash that they try and use to control society.

OMGZzZz, a tool you can use to easily look up all of the bullshit, contradictory, hateful, lies, unscientific, cruel, illogical, outright crazy, immoral, etc... stuff that is in the bible that before it was never so out in the open for everyone to see, wow that seems like such an evil tool, lol, not. The bible is a hateful, fear-mongering book of fiction, I mean fuck, half of the stories are stolen from earlier religions. It's such bullshit, if it wasn't used to control people so much/hold people back I would say that it's funny that there are still people that believe this shit, unfortunately it's really not funny though, it's sad.

I never said a was a master on the subject, there you go with the words in my mouth thing again, you people are pretty good for that, I expected nothing less.

With all that is out there for us to see so easily I don't see how anyone can still believe in this shit.


I know I'm kind of all over the place in this post, but I am under the influence of multiple drugs, omg there I go with the sinning again, how dare I do something that I like to do that makes me feel good, I'm such a horrible person, I hope I don't go to teh hells... but my main point is that Christianity is bullshit and evil in many ways, and I have no respect for anyone that spews the garbage that is Christianity.

Well I gotta go, gotta finish catching up on the amazing show called Shameless, I can't waste anymore time here right now, I have to watch it before the evil guy in the sky strikes down all of the characters for sinning.

Of course the church came around on slavery. I don't know of any modern religion that is in favor of slavery. That doesn't change the fact that the bible - the user manual for Christianity - does not condemn slavery. Sure, Christians came around to it when not being against slavery started to look bad. Kinda like the way Christians are having to change their tune on gay people because you can't get away with being a homophobe like you could ten or twenty years ago. The word of god seems to change a lot more over time then it should, don't you think?

Let's get one thing straight. The only people who said the Bible is the be all, end all, authoritative manual for life....we're the reformers. Men who broke away from the Holy Roman Catholic Church 500 years ago and started the psychotic form of "Christianity" you all keep mentioning.

This is a Catholic thread, and Catholics have NEVER preached that the Bible is to be taken word for word, in a literal context, applicable to every situation  one encounters. Tradition dating back to the time of Jesus himself with the first pope (The apostle Peter) is just as important as the divinely inspired scriptures.

If there was an all-knowing God they would've known that society would change their stance on a lot of shit that is in the bible, therefore they would've prepared for such things by condemning them at the time of the bible's creation.

But there's not an all knowing God and the people that came up with the book of fiction were not all knowing, they were just going off of that they knew at the time, they did not know what the future held.

The bible is such a hateful book.

The reformers are not Catholic, that's what I'm sayjng! Martin Luther, John Calvin, etc. Etc. The reformers are the Ones who broke away from the Catholic Church and said Scripture Alone! Grab your bible!!! (But not before they took a razor to it and rewrote passages)

You need to pick up a history book and official teachings on each sects views before you come to a Catholic thread making accusations that only work for Protestant churches

Any Roman Catholic Church in your area will have confession. Try to find one of the churches websites. It lists the times more often than not. However I think the sacrament is closed for those not entering the Church or IN the Church. if you were eastern Orthodox they would be chill :smirk: Either way double check


I haven't seen a Catholic Church in this small town. I really like the idea of Confession. I havent been to church in years but I would do that.

Grab your bible!!! Oh wait, is it in English? Burn him at the stake. One of the motivations for the reformation was the fact that Catholics didn't feel the bible was meant for public consumption. It was the reformers who made it available to the masses.

i think that is a distorted way of thinking of things. why would a god concern itself with the fates an actions of human beings specifically?

that being said, i feel organized religion has skewed many universal truths, and are highly distorted.

Why is this trolling. How can I NOT take this view if I am expected to maintain my faith. Look at some of the ugliness in the Catholic Churches history. Abuse of indulgences, the crusades, crooked popes (hell one guy hosted sex parties on the Basilica of saint Peter, the mistreatment of Latin America upon arrival, the sex Abuse of minors (Even though it's no more prevalent  than any other group of people....however they did try to cover it up in multiple diocese and that's fucked).

Hell even in MY Church there was a guy in the Rectory who was accused of child abuse, in the end he shot himself as things progressed. The Bishop of Santa Rosa is named Robert. The one BEFORE Robert actually gave an accused pedophile priest at my Church a 3 day head start into Mexico before calling the authorities :pokerawe:

This and many other stains on the Churches history are indeed "there"...but I'm not some scrub ass bitch who leaves "His" Church for emotional reasons. The Catholic Church has been around for damn near 2000 years.....since the beginning  at Pentecost. There are bound to be a few blemishes on its record (I have a few on my FBI chart as well :smirk:). And these blemishes  are bound to be blown up, over exaggerated, and honed in on when you are an organization claiming to represent God, by people who don't want to submit to God in the first place.....looking for any reason to continue their dark lifestyle until their last breath is taken :onfire:

You claim my comments are trolling. How can I view it any other way. This is "our" faith shroomery. The word Catholic means "universal". We should be proud to profess it!! :rockon:
