Jury Duty!

This is my 5th fucking time getting summoned for jury duty. I ignored the first 2 by calling in and getting myself out. The 3rd time I totally forgot about it and tried to get out of it but I had to go because I missed the call out date. I waited in the superior court for the entire day until I was called. I was placed as a potential juror for a fucking murder trial! It was me and 50+ others! The defendants lawyers went through all of us to find conflicts and I just stated I was unable to do any duty because I was a full time chemistry student taking 19 credits. I was dismissed. I got another one where they didn't draw my number lot. Now today I get the fucking mail and I'm fucking summoned again!! How is this possible! I'm 23 and this is my 5th summons. I know some people who haven't in their entire lifetime been summoned. Anyways I'm pretty curious to know what this trial is about. The only really cool thing I got out of the one I went to was to see a murder trial in action.

I've been summoned twice and the last time i got chosen to sit on the jury, hell i thought it was cool as fuck the way our justice system works the shitty part was trying to decide if this guy killed his dog by not giving it water and letting it get heat exhausted. Then again i was all fucked up on hydrocodone so i prolly woulda found anything that involves sitting around fun.
Ended in a hung jury 2 guys were sure it was his fault his dog died and the rest of us not so much, funny thing the dudes lawyer sucked ass imo he always went on about how his dog was not a pet but a guard dog hence why it was outside in the elements.

Yeah I was probably maybe on prescription hydro too lmfao! The murder trial was actually a popular case here. Some kid lit a fire behind a walmart and it burned down the building and a firefighter died. He was indicted like 6 years later after he returned from the army and served in Iraq.

but damn a jury just for a dog. That's some waste if you ask me. I love dogs but shit must of been a serious case of animal abuse for a trial. Or maybe just a small town?

Damn, that sucks but as stannis the mannis says "the good deed does not wash out the bad nor the bad the good" But the reward for serving in our armed forces is pretty fucking bunk, it won't compare to the time he will have to do.

Yup just looked it up he was convicted after a second trial. The one I was in resulted in mistrial. He was found guilty of negligent homicide and 2 counts of arson. He was sentenced to 6 years. That must of been a really shitty feeling to know you killed a firefighter.

I have been summoned once.. The murder was committed 3 miles from where I was living.. It was really screwed up, This guy shot his wife 6 times in front of their children after he t-boned their car with his suburban and pinned it to a tree. He was trying to take them away from her at the place they normally meet to swap for weekends (divorced). He shot her while she was trying to hold onto her children and protect them..  after he killed his wife he jacked a persons car that had come to help and took his kids with. I think he is still working on an insanity plea. 

His first argument was that she was abusive.

Damn that's fucked up. People are crazy!

It's really easy to get out of it. What's funny is when I told the judge that I was a full time student he was super snippy saying, "well obviously jury duty isn't a convenience for anyone". I was like okay, haha.

jury nullification is important in the case of drug charges, a juror does not have to find someone guilty of the violation of a law if that law is unjust.
