Did I stumble upon a true pachanoi today?
    #21427895 -

I've become used to seeing PC pachanoi at my local big box stores on a fairly regular basis lately, but I have yet to see anything like this. My initial thought was it must be a true pachanoi or some sort of other interesting trichocereus none the less. It had a tag but no species name was on it. Had to buy it when I saw it

What do y'all think my brothas, is this a true pach or something else?

They are sanpedro cactus all.

Generally those Ecuador san pedro forms ahve so visible notches.

Probably potent, but it can't be said based on picture.

Very nice find!!

TPM mutant grows sometimes like that.. Very visible notches and does "rib play" ..If so they may change randomly form.. But it can be find out later.. But if they do change ribs randomly very much, they could be TPM cuttings. Can't say for sure tho..

Probably pachanoi , really a good find, I also love the notches
I don't know who says which one is true or Wich one is not,  I can only say that is fine to find some non PC pachanoi sometimes

That's been the most common clone sold in Lowe's/Home Depot in the southwest US over the past four years or so.  They often have monstrose qualities and even crest occasionally.  I have many of them and they grow big and fat and fast and the spines even get a few inches long on the older specimens.  I don't know the alkaloid content, but if you eat it, let us know.

I haven't had San Pedro in years.  Back when I did, it was bought from Lowes or Home Depot, it looked PC, certainly not the SP in this thread.  Anyway, I would always trip off a foot or more of it.  That being said, the only weak San Pedro I ever had was bought off ebay and that stuff was worthless - even three feet of it.

I've never seen weak bridgesii.

Those funny mutt pachanoi plants seems they have popped everywhere around. I am not sure how many clone there are around. I have my clones from Peru. Growth is similar to cereus peruvianus monstrose. It will gow colum or turn sometime to grow very odd.

Can't say how much of those are same or how many new clone there are. Anyway, Almost everyone seems to post pics of those plants, I got mine some 1,5year ago but lately I've noticed people post pics of those semi-mutant pachanoi plants.

Like that ne with two branches, it have been short period of time crested and then just keep on going with two columns.

I managed to get only ~7cm growth tips. Two of them. Both From same plant but have very different growth patter at the moment.

OMG! Now everyone going eat all of these beautiful clones! It's obvious most pachanoi-trichs is, indeed potent enough, compared to predominant cultivar clone.

Why such a beautiful clone have been ingested? (well all of them are nice above)

I can get better buzz when I have potent clone and I don't ingest it. :yesnod:

To me personally, any potent clone are more or less living totem decoration in my house than anything else. Well.. Atleast noone have eaten my plants, excluding bugs.

I ate this guy. 11" long, 4" circumference. It wasn't as potent compared to some bridge cuttings I have but it still gave me some great visuals. I`m happy with the purchase of them.

I found a few nurseries around here that sell them so I wasn't worried about if I ate one I wouldn't have some for growing. I currently have a few of these in the ground

Not that it matters much, but you mean 4" diameter, right? Very nice plant, put some on the ground.
