My first seedlings have left their propagator (see Trichocereus peruvianus (Peruvian Torch) update ) but I have many more seedlings are growing in their place.

cool! I won some T.Peruvian seeds in a contest, so I hope to have some tiny cacti soon too.
What's the best way to germinate such seeds anyway? how did you do it, seems to work fine

-Planted just below the soil surface. -Planted in a small heated propagator. -Commercial Cacti Soil + lime and calcium. -White plastic protects them from direct sun light. -Placed in a sunny location (south facing window) -Watered once every two days with spray gun, just enough to wet the surface. -Sometimes I Water some more to that the roots get wet but not very often. -With the bottom heat the soil soon dries out so watering often does not cause root rot. - however, Wwhile germinating they need more water to prevent the soil drying out completely. -Soil was not sterilised. -The propagator was not sealed (air vents open).

that's some good info, i've always been really particular about making sure everything was sterile with my cactii seeds... i guess my worries were a little overboard.
