Yeah so Monsanto apparently is buying people off and using falsified info in their favor...

Just thought that was somewhat relevant since you claim there are all these studies showing how safe roundup is.

Figured I would poke a whole is the legitimacy of those.

Of course I am sure you still think its great stuff

musiclover420, you are trying to reason with a guy who thinks an emoticon is a logical reply to a scientific question. He can't understand what we are trying to explain, it all goes way over his head. Anything not to do with pounding nails or sawing boards is over his head. All he knows is he doesn't want to pay extra for good food so he insists its all good.

Excellent points on how Monsanto lies and suppresses the bad news. It also illustrates how corrupt our govt is and easily sold to the highest bidder.

>Of course I am sure you still think its great stuff

He who is convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

You know what else is basically an opinion? Falsified research :facepalm3:

Of course when a powerful company pays people off to do "research" that is nothing less than whatever the company want's people to be told, that is not an "opinion" to you.

Someones noy being hypocritical at all

At least the guy who wrote that "opinion article" wasn't paid to by Monsanto and then had his opinion labelled as research

There was nothing there that said they were unsafe.  All they did was impeach one of hundreds of studies that say they are perfectly safe.  You guys are foundering badly.

The fact that companies are falsifying data to make it look safe sort of casts some doubt on those "hundreds of studies" also, wasn't it "thousands" before?

OK, finally a statement we can agree on. It makes gmo garbage much easier to produce. Eat hearty, in 20 years we will know what it does to people.

so you're saying that the last 20 years havent produced the results you want and we
need another 20 because that next 20 is what's really going to make it happen

what about the independent studies, more than 3500 of them, they should be
overlooked because some guy that falsified his data is more credible

Here's more food for thought

Linda Fisher is the current vice president for DuPont Safety, Health & Environment and the chief sustainability officer. And as quite openly stated she has also held a number of positions in the political sphere:
"Deputy Administrator of U.S. EPA; U.S. EPA Assistant Administrator - Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances; U.S. EPA Assistant Administrator - Office of Policy, Planning and Evaluation; and Chief of Staff to the U.S. EPA Administrator. Fisher, an attorney, was also vice president of Government Affairs for Monsanto and was "Of Counsel" with the law firm, Latham & Watkins."

Michael Taylor "a former Monsanto executive, joined the F.D.A. in 2009 as “senior advisor to the commissioner.” He was a staff attorney and executive assistant to the F.D.A. commissioner before joining a law firm in Washington in 1981, where he worked to secure F.D.A. approval of Monsanto’s artificial growth hormone before returning to the F.D.A. as deputy commissioner in 1991."

"Monsanto Controls both the White House and the US Congress"

Interesting paper with solid key points around "Monsanto friendly legislation" as well as "Government Appointment of Monsanto Associates"

so you're saying that we need to breed people specifically for government office
that they cannot have exposure to the outside world lest they have a job before
they hold a government position

global research, lol

Have you had a chance to browse the latest studies posted showing toxic effects from roundup? Do you have some slander to share about the authors perhaps? Do you still think a DO is not a medical doctor?

Here is another one to sneer at

Weed-Whacking Herbicide Proves Deadly to Human Cells

Used in gardens, farms, and parks around the world, the weed killer Roundup contains an ingredient that can suffocate human cells in a laboratory, researchers say
June 23, 2009 |By Crystal Gammon and Environmental Health News

Used in yards, farms and parks throughout the world, Roundup has long been a top-selling weed killer. But now researchers have found that one of Roundup’s inert ingredients can kill human cells, particularly embryonic, placental and umbilical cord cells.

The new findings intensify a debate about so-called “inerts” — the solvents, preservatives, surfactants and other substances that manufacturers add to pesticides. Nearly 4,000 inert ingredients are approved for use by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

:yaysugar:

Yeah don't address the pro Monsanto laws, and make a stupid sarcastic remark at the ties between many people making laws around Monsanto and their ex employees

If anything it's the opposite, we need to stop allowing corruption in politics.

People getting into political positions with help from lobbyists they are supporting, then being part of the lawmaking around the companies that helped get them said positions.

But yes, you purposefully misinterpreting that really makes it less legitimate of an issue becouse somehow I implied "exposure to the outside world" was the issue...

Great logic, someone clearly doesn't have any bias.

Like Stonehenge has said you keep on eating that crap and time will tell.

Believe it or not 20 years is nothing. We still have no idea how GMO's and all the crazy synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and all the other sketchy recent products, will be doing to people longterm.

I don't care if there are 10,000 studies proving it, long term effects cannot be fully understood until enough time passes to fully gauge them.

Diet is such an important part of life I want to see studies proving pesticides and GMO's won't be fucking up the generations that follow.

I would not be surprised if pesticides and GMO's have negative effects over generations.

Meanwhile all the rich people who can afford to not eat cheap will of course not be eating that crap.

It will be classism to the extreme, we're not even that far off already.

there's a reason they suggest pregnant women not use it, maybe they shouldnt
visit laboratories either... I guess you missed the part about knowing the
source, this socalled research comes from the University of Caen in France, can
we guess which discredited researchers that have released dozens of adulterated
studies by misrepresenting their work are doing research at France’s University
of Caen... that's right, Seralini and friends... wanna guess who did this study?

Giles-Eric Seralini... is it any surprise that a layman;s magazine such as SA
would publish a story on a fraudulent tool like seralini? not really since SA not
aimed at people that read actual studies but instead read headlines so maybe
instead of posting an article you could post the actual study, not a link to the
abstract but a link to the complete study so we can show you once more that it's
fraudulent or we can wait for the peer review on the topic which will show this,
not that you'll believe it since you refuse to accept the 3500 studies that show
the safety of these products since you prefer believing anything that agrees with
your personal views even though they've been proven as frauds

one thing about seralini, he is tenatious in his agenda on only trying to attack
monsanto and for the record, it's been retracted because this is the very fraud
mentioned previously in this thread. try to keep up with the shit sparky

Yeah and huge multinational corporations never discredit people to ruin research/ opinions that don't support them.

I am not saying that is the case as I do not know much about Seralini.

why not follow the link and read the letters that resulted in the retraction of
this bullshit seralini produces, maybe you'll gain an actual understanding of the
