I just got my youngest daughter her first "only hers" pet, a bearded dragon.  She's way into reptiles since I've always kept snakes and such as she was growing up.  Ex wife wouldnt let her get a snake though, but bearded dragons have enough cute factor to win her over apparently.

Since it was her birthday present we went all out.  Found a really good local breeder with 30 years in the business and got her a cool morph of the citrus beardies.

dual lighting setup with day nigt functions and scheduling and shiz, one bulb for the normal daytime spectrum and dawn to dusk timing and such, second bulb is purely the heat source.

She has sent me tons of pics to my phone but I'm at work and can't upload them to shroomery until I get home.  I fI remember I'll post em.

Yea I didnt even know I liked bearded dragons they are like happy little stoner lizards.

The tank makes it look smaller than it is.

Nose to tail its like 7 1/2"

Theyre like the most stoner heads of all the lizards cept maybe chameleons. I miss my lizards :sad:

yeh they jus like to chill they have like crazy deep personalities. They usually only let their owners handle them if at all and they dont really like it. They mostly jus like to curl up thier tail n jus chill in the trees eat little munchies change colors n shit.

Hmm, I always thought they were cool and wanted one but I was afraid of stressing it out and accidentally killing it or something. I like how bearded dragons have no problem with being held and petted on though.

yeh a chameleon isnt something you pet or handle really i mean some of them are cool with crawling on you for a little while. Ull know when you stess them out theyll change colors and hiss and be all upset. Its best to jus let them hang out in a baller ass cage and theyll look all super happy n you can feed them dust cricket treats from your fingers n its awesome!

The dragon is very animated! Pretty bad ass really. Looks cool on shrooms too I guess.

when they go to the bathroom they really go. :shitstorm:

We got into the habit of soaking them in water a couple times a week.  They usually drop a deuce in the water and it makes it easier then cleaning the tank.

A longer, wider terrarium that is less tall is better. They dont really like to climb too much so a rock cave thing is good for them rather than branches. Also if that is a reptile harness in the corner you might want to put it in a different place so the beardie can actually lay in it.
